Doomed Severitus, yes. They build a bond but Harry betrays Snape's trust by looking into the pensieve (he did so with Dumbledore whom he trusts, why would he not do it with Snape?), and Snape betrays his trust by throwing the jar of cockroaches at him despite his knowledge of the Dursleys or at least an inkling.

Snape finally decides to take Harry away from the Dursleys' house, ignoring Dumbledore's warnings that the boy needed to stay.
Hanahaki AU
Basically it's Hanahaki AU but kinda different because Harry suffers from abstractly unrequited parental love.
First from the Dursley's (from which he quickly became deatched, causing the illness to be mostly symptom-less) then after Sirius's death it returns but like really really badly as now it's unrequired since Sirius is dead.
Obviously Harry doesn't really tell anybody because since the cure is the person loving you back and we can't raise Sirius from the dead he believes he will die soon and wants his friends to remember him happy and healthy, not miserable and dying
Dumbledore figures it out because he's not an idiot. So does Hermione but she is at a loss on what to do and writes Remus to come back to help Harry but gets no answer so she just tries to support Harry as much as she can wothout giving it away that she knows even though it's breaking her heart.
Dumbledore is making plans which he doesn't feel necessary to share with anyone (he believes the connection must be genuine).
And sets Snape to figure this out to the joy of NO ONE.
BAM EVENTUAL SEVERITUS OR HARRY DYING BECAUSE HE CANNOT BELIEVE THAT SNAPE WOULD CARE FOR HIM. BAM!
”OR HARRY DYING-“ FAKE NEWS letttt me stop you right there EVRRYONE knows that snape and harry will get through whatever the hell life throws at them next, go have a vacation in the bahamas or whatever, and then live in a tiny secluded cabin away from the world as father and son forever just like in canon and in every single fanfic ever because death doesn’t exist in this universe in fact it’s outlawed and they definitely aren’t the type to break any laws so it works out properly in fact the hanahaku disease actually just makes harry smell like flowers in fact it’s not dangerous at all and the dursleys get curbstombed but someone too idk
Bro coping so bad, I'm crying. But yes, yes, Harry definitely lived. Definitely belied Severus when he said that he cared for Harry not simply because of the curse. He didn't think the man was pretending, to save his life. He didn't watch the man grow desperate and angry "what else could you possibly want me to do, to show I care?!" and think that at least Snape would catch a break when Harry passed. That didn't happen in any universe because that is against the law and Harry Potter is a known law abiding citizen.
