Oh Vera. You still talking about your magical ways like they’re something he’s never experienced before? Don’s not as sheltered as he’d have you believe, doll. Though you probably could teach him a thing or two. Light on my f— Baby, when you’re in the business of rebellion, you have to be. With me and Don around, Long Island wouldn’t dream of it. Let’s just find a good speak before the night gets too old, here. School’s starting in a few days, so let’s make the best of it.
"Johnny, baby, you'd think he'd stick with a dumb Dora that'd buy that bull?" She teasingly scoffed, chuckling a bit at his last sentence about that matter. Probably could, by golly she probably gave Don enough hickeys to look like a damn leper. "Alright, tiger, then let's hit the road . Night's just gettin' birthed as speak, no time to waste." She said, walking in an excited pace that was just about close to running out of this place. As she opened the unlocked gate, Vera slowed down a bit to try and contain the desperation for some entertainment. "You've ceased to tell me about your summer yet you know, so hop to it. Give me some highlights and yap small talk." She said as she cleared the air with harmless delight.
He picked up the shirt, tossing it on the bed behind the blonde. He wasn’t about to be a dick to someone saving his ass. She did look familiar, though. Oh! She was that girl. “Aren’t you Resident Rascal? Quite an achievement to be kicked out of that house. Feels good to be the black sheep, don’t it?” Leo chuckled, crossing his arms and turning away to give her some privacy. “Worry not, I will be out of here as soon as possible. You sound like you have a plan, though.”
Great. Another fella finding her overrated "fall from grace" the most slayin' topic. Sliding the shirt on and buttoning it quickly, she got out of the bed, even though she was rarely 'decent' in lady-like standards of dressing, it wasn't like she could put a dress on seeing the circumstances. "Yeah I'm that girl." she huffed, dissatisfied to say the least. Not that she wasn't secretly proud of her new found Rossdale glory, she just couldn't see the big deal in the whole grand aspect of things. Still the same ol' Vera, just a lot more liberated without her former Bellemont restrictions.
She ran her fingers through her disheveled blonde hair, nodding tiredly seeing she was still in a bit of a sleep-daze, "Just means more liquor, crazier blows, and cheap ciggys. My favorite." she replied, not entirely joking. "Barely, but I hardly think you can come up with something better." Vera retorted with every hint of condescension leaving her mouth, "You can turn around now. I need you to listen carefully, and when I say this it's just for the sake of not wanting blood shed on the carpet, got it?".
Vera then walked past him to peek through her door, only two rooms down till they get their residence. She turned around, shut the door behind her as her eyes shifted towards her bed. "You hop in there, and keep your head down. You're gonna pretend you're having the best afternoon of your life, while if they so much as knock, I'm gonna start moanin' like I'm havin' the holy grail of intercourse. They'll leave rest assured. You mention this to anyone, don't be surprised you're bumped up before you can say 'Vera' again." She tried to keep the plan as simple as possible, and as much as this was a favor, she had no room for any lollygagging when this could easily be misread as double crossing her boyfriend.

Humming and Other Noises || Vera & Genevieve
“I wanna be loved by you, just you…” Genevieve idly sang whilst packing things in her room. Things had gotten a bit loud out around Setalcott Castle for the students’ last day there. It was one day before school had officially started, so naturally students felt the need to stir up a little trouble before classes really got into swing. Genevieve decided it was probably best for her general safety to take up back in her room.
This was no problem for Genevieve, being alone was a time when she could, say, recharge. During this, Genevieve had a, in her opinion, bad, habit of singing to herself once she was alone. She was just another victim to the catchy tunes that had sprung up the past couple of years that all the flappers had been dancing to. Unfortunately enough, Genevieve never had quite the extraordinary voice, thus why this only became a habit when she was alone.
“…and nobody else but you," Genevieve continued, maybe slightly off-key, but who was she to know for sure. Just as she had packed away another set of clothes, a loud noise broke out from outside of her door. She abruptly stopped singing and rushed over to her door. Turning the knob and opening her door a crack she peaked her head out.
"Everything alright?" she called out, a slight blush creeping to her face as she realized whoever made the noise most likely heard her singing.
Usually on the last summer day Vera would soak in as much enjoyment from her favorite season as she could. But on the very moment she found a couple of minutes of time to spare, so she used it to roam around the luxurious castle in search of a sign -- the final summer escapade before her last heedless year at Windsor begun. Vera already sat by the fountain while sneaking in a metal tin of bootleg under her dress, covered the first floor like it was her job, and currently was found barely making it up the carpeted stairs like a splifficated fool.
Now, the Rossdale could hold in her liquor better than her looks signal she does, so she was barely on rummy level with her level of intoxication. But one thing was for sure, she drank on an empty stomach simply out of mindless boredom. Taking in the second floor by storm, her ears were picking up familiar vibrations. A voice belonging to a certain Oxford she'd met on the week spent at this castle. Vera put her efforts in tiptoeing quietly through the hall, even though it was a failed attempt as she started slowly swaying while she walked up to the source of the noise, resulting in Vera pushing herself against the wall a bit harder (and louder) than intended.
Sober or not, she'd laugh at herself any day, looking at the small red mark she'd gotten from the impact of the wall to the side of her forearm. "Oh, lord." she said under a zozzled giggle, before Genevieve came bursting through the door, stopping the singing all together. Vera nodded her head, and put her hands up in form of surrender. "Dandy, just dandy." She laughed, standing up straighter than she was previously leaning on the wall. "My I never knew you were a fan of them, mu-si-cal's." the girl girl exaggerated her last word like some exotic perfume an American could barely pronounce.
Stepping out of one problem right into another. Typical Leo. She was gorgeous, that he would admit, but his mind was slightly preoccupied by the life threatening force outside the door. Leaning against the door, he peeked into the hall only to face the thugs whilst they were making room checks. They were dangerously close to his.
"My momma taught me Latin and Greek and how to remove grease stains. I guess I missed out on Manners 101." He muttered nervously, walking around the room in search for a place to hide. The closet would be full and the furniture was too simple. Time was not on his side. "Oh, definitely. Out of my damn mind, and soon to be out of consciousness, if I don’t find a place to hide."
She couldn't believe she didn't just make him leave right on the spot, but she'd considered that maybe in similar predicaments she'd depend on the kindness of strangers as well. Plus, the last thing she wanted to come off as was a pill. Rolling his eyes at his response that she couldn't decipher was sarcasm or legitimacy, she let out an exasperated sigh and made up her mind. By golly was this just the worst idea Vera could go along with. She'd just hope that the worst scenario was he was getting chased by a couple of pissed off fellow Radleys. In that case they wouldn't dare disturb Vera, she was the bootleg king's sheba.
"Fine. But after this game of hide and go seek, you better be quick to dry up." Vera proclaimed, keeping her tone as calm as the situation needed her to be. Looking across the carpet floor, she spotted her button up pajama shirt. Technically Don's but he'd made it a habit of leaving his shirts from time to time. "Make yourself useful and throw me that white shirt would ya? I'd rather not have an unplanned peep show in the middle of the afternoon." She directed. Vera paid attention to his search for a hiding place, soon they'd come knocking on Vera's door and all she'd have is some tired excuse backed up. She had a plan she just wasn't so sure it wouldn't get her in trouble as well.

Oh believe me, when my parents take me to formal dinners, all I’m thinking the entire night will be how to leave early.
Honestly I believe that's what every sane person thinks about formal dinners. And if they even try to convince themselves that it beats real blows, then they're a pitiful liar.
With three bulky men on his tracks just around the corner, Leo had no choice but to barge into the nearest room with hopes the person inside would let him in. He had gotten himself into quite a mess. Hell, if he’s caught, a week in the hospital will surely follow. Still facing the exit, the man shut the door and turned around to face the music.
"I know this looks bad, but you have to be quiet." Leo whispered, gesturing at the door, where violent thuds could be heard in the distance.
When Vera decided to sleep in that afternoon after being a classic owl and staying out past five in the morning, the last thing she worried was checking the dorm's lock. It's not like every day someone would sneak in her room or burst in it to say the least. But of course the one day she sleeps in half nude, this predicament of a random -- assumed Radley -- came rushing into her room when she'd only just woken up.
"Jesus H. Christ, didn't your mama ever teach you how to knock?" She asked sternly, quickly wrapping the bed sheet under both arms to cover her bare top half before he turned around. Quiet he demanded, the nerve he had to burst in her room and tell her what to do already. Though Vera played along, she wasn't pleased in the slightest, asking in a persistent whisper "Have you gone completely off your nuts, sport?".
Genevieve allowed herself a quick laugh at Vera’s attitude. Her blunt wit was something she enjoyed, but didn’t see much from girls her age. In one quick motion Gen had set down her book and walked over to catch up with Vera. “I’ve actually got several games going on at once, but I think I can keep them waiting,” she joked as she approached the Rossdale. “Where are we off to?” she asked, perhaps with a little too much excitement in her voice. She hadn’t done anything remotely fun all summer.
She knew Genevieve was different from the other wet blankets from this school, and maybe that was just because they met from the brunette's sudden outburst of new-found rebellion -- but most likely it was just her glowing aura like burning candles on a cool summer night. Vera could recognize a familiar warmth from people, though as familiar and satisfying as it was, there was still a long way to go on letting another person in her tight circle of trusted comrade. Vera smiled, barely but assuredly it was there by the tug in her lip. "No clue, sugar." She responded, "I'm just lookin' to get monumnetally bent, but now I'm thinkin' gee, a castle this big and we only know as much as the pills that run this place told us, there's gotta be something more. Someplace we ain't supposed to be.". Usually telling this to an Oxford would be a real amateur move, but the fact Gen wanted a reckless escapade in the first place has to jot her down as something more than a flat tire.
