“I need to take a weekend in Vegas. There are some tournaments coming up and mama needs the money.”

“You’re observant. I mean, technically it is his, but…yeah. I guess I purchased it. You’re not going to tell Hagan before he does, right?”
“Yeah it’s always been a good quality of mine. Of course not. I’m not an asshole. Sides, that’s his news to tell her and their dynamic isn’t something I want to mess with.”

“What can I say? I’m a natural flirt. He forgave me.”
“I can see that. I saw him slipping a ring off his finger and into his pocket when he came through the door the other day. I assume that would be yours?”

“She knows it’s a great idea. Because you see, she loves me. I know it’s a concept you can’t understand, but love is pretty awesome.”
“Oh I understand love perfectly well and I can even believe Reagan loves you because she’s a caring person who could overlook just about anything. It’s you that I worry about. You are the one who I don’t really think understands even the concept of love.”

“Oh? I am not sure that story will end well. I nearly poisoned him and gave him a caffeine over dose.”
“Yeah can’t say we heard about any of that. Mostly we heard about your very persistent flirting.”

“Good to know. He talks about you ever once in awhile. But yeah, that is what I do. Maybe thinking about franchising it eventually.”
“Sounds interesting. Yeah I was here the day he came home and said he had met you.”

“You’re right, she could. But at least her taste has gotten better over the years.”
“Considering she believes it’s a good idea to marry you, I doubt it.”

“Okay, yeah I remember this conversation. Chase has told us some stuff.”

“Ah, well…good luck with that. What you are passionate for usually isn’t what you were raised to do.”
“And you? What do you do?”
robbielies:
“Not if it makes you miserable. Will just tear you apart.”
“I was practically raised to do law and then once my mother died - well that’s the only career my dad’s ever really seen as being the correct one.”

“Well we’re getting married sooooo I doubt it.”
“A pity since she can do a lot better.”

“Big shoes to fill, never liked the idea of filling my dad’s shoes. Whatever works for you though, you know. Law I imagine is a bit dull compared to writing?”
“Yeah, but it’s a more structured and sturdier career to pursue.”
