According to this twitter thread, it seems like Evgenia’s speech might have made a difference. Before all of the athletes were just neutral Olympic athletes, but now they are OAR (Olympic Athletes from Russia). The main concern seems to be if OAR will be able to compete in team events since neutral athletes weren’t allowed to compete in events like track and field relays. Hopefully OAR and clean athletes will be able to compete in team events and there won’t be any boycott or shame towards athletes that compete as OAR. They also asked Evgenia if she will be competing as an OAR or if she wants to, but she just said that it’s too early to ask questions like that.
