I’ve been really busy lately and haven’t opened Tumblr in a while, so I’m sorry for the late reply… These are actually drawings I made a long time ago, and unfortunately I’ve already forgotten lots of meanings behind them😢😢😢😢. Even if I did, I feel like it would be a bit weird to explain those hints too clearly… I don’t really like to emphasize my interpretation……I really prefer it when viewers are free to think and feel whatever they want from my work 🥺🥺🥺🥺
But I’ve always been drawn to the kind of gender-neutral（？）quality Eddie brings to the characters he plays… so when I draw him, I consciously try to emphasize those traits. At the time, I was really into Golden Age illustrators and some more traditional artists, and I was sort of trying to learn from them… so I guess I ended up combining the two a bit?
Anyway, it turned out better than I expected! The vulnerability that many of Eddie’s characters carry (does that sound weird?) clearly fits this theme really well🥺🥺 Btw I am so into his eyes…..you can probably tell I spent a lot of time drawing them 😢😢😢😢
