Frutiger aero/aqua littlest pet shop (part 1)
taking gen 3 mlp lore way too seriously pt. 2:
i rewatched the runaway rainbow so i could add to that last post, and i'm a lot more confused than i was before now. i'm just going to compile everything i can wrap my head around about unicornia
it's a much bigger land than ponyville (seemingly by a LOT) but it's populated soley by unicorns
rainbow princesses create rainbows. these rainbows have four colors (which are implied to just be the primary colors in this universe dw abt it), each one corresponding to a princess.
one new princess of one color is chosen (probably by lottery??) every year (which i assume means a princess retires every year as well. my personal headcanon is that the person closest to retirement is in charge of training the newest princess for the job).
the rainbow ceremony somehow counteracts an annual natural phenomena in which, due to the falling of four "shooting stars," color is drained from the world. it's unknown how this tradition got started, or if it's ever failed to be completed, or what the state of the world was before it was enacted--but supposedly it's never gotten bad enough for anyone to notice within the lifetimes of anyone alive in the movie. After the first rainbow of the year is created, the princesses can create more on a whim for the rest of the year.
the newest rainbow princess doesn't technically get coronated until after they successfully create the rainbow.
the crystal rainbow castle is only one of seven of castles, each of which "celebrates" something different. the castles represent: happiness, friendship, family, kindness, music, laughter, and rainbows.
it's unknown how these castles handle their respective responsibilities, or how many princesses are assigned to each castle, or if the princesses are elected the same way as rainbow ones.
"princess" seems to be a word that just refers to anyone in charge of handling societal responsibilities. i should note, though, that i don't believe anyone but rarity is ever actually referred to as a princess, so it's POSSIBLE that princess is a title given only to the newest pony elected into a castle.
