Posey didn’t tend to see the errors of people’s ways, maybe she was impartially blind to negative traits in people or maybe she only wanted to see what she wanted to see which was the good in everyone. She knew that Violet wasn’t exactly what she pictured to everyone else but she knew with patience, an open mind and a lot of love on her side then she could get her to come around - and that is what had kept them together for this long, the fact that Violet - even though she felt she came across the opposite of what she was - that Posey knew who the real Vi actually was; “How is it that you know exactly what to say? Where do you go to learn these things?” she wasn’t a master at these love games but she did try and that was the main thing.
Violet’s family was a complete mystery to Posey, she had received little tidbits of information here and there but had never sat down and had a full story be told to her, so the paparazzi at first was a bit of a throw back because she wasn’t expecting it at all and then to learn her mother was in movies and was basically famous - to a degree - kind of blew Posey’s mind. It was so fascinating to learn this information and all she wanted to do was learn more about them so that when she got around to actually greeting them that she didn’t look like a complete lack of no how; “What do you mean by routine? I mean I don’t think anyone would ever get use to people invading someone’s privacy” and she wondered idly if maybe that had an affect on Violet and her personality and she just didn’t realize it; “I mean do you think that maybe that’s why you are the way you are? Because all your life you’ve had people trying to find their way into the nooks and crannies of your families lives and you just had to get a guard to protect that?” it would definitely make sense to say the least.
“I think it really would I mean it’s going to come full circle and I would feel a whole lot of closure going forth” it would just feel a lot more equal, the fact that Violet had met Joseph, Lola as well as Athena and now Posey was going the same “Oh my gosh really? That’s insane” Posey had never experienced such luxury before, it was almost a foreign concept to her, bringing her chicken nuggets that she held in front of the window she couldn’t help that the plane that was currently coming through was going to be hers; “So wait-… is that plane just for us or are there going to be other people on it?” asking as the waiter kindly announced that they were ready to board their flight bending down to help Violet gather her belongings so that she didn’t have to have too much of her hands full when it came to getting Atlas prepared.
Violet always did have a little bit of a mean streak, while she was patient and understanding she didn't like to be spoken down to. She didn't like feeling like someone had to go out of their way to explain something to her because she didn't get it, and she really didn't appreciate when someone assumed that she didn't understand exactly what they were saying because she didn't sound like she was from America. There was something about Posey though, she stuck around and somehow found her ways endearing rather than being put off by them, just the fact that Violet felt comfortable enough to start her puns up with Posey was enough to speak volumes, but she had become like that with her family too, so she knew it was the perfect place for her to put her life into. "Life, life is where I learned this, and the past year... The past year taught me so much about you."
Violet really wished she had taken the time to really sit down and entirely explain the situation with her mother and father, but something about surprising Posey with something like this was actually kind of sweet to feel her pressed up against her and using her for comfort. As much as she could have told her, sometimes there were little surprises that were great to bring to Posey when she was least expecting it, like the amount of luxury that was about to come with the plane ride too. "You get surprisingly used to it when it's something you get when you go out with your mother all the time, thank god she wasn't an A list celebrity, she was basically D list, you know that show with Kathy Griffin? That's the level of fame mom got to."
Violet hadn't really thought about it too much but it did make sense, there was something about the way that Posey said it that made her realize that maybe that was exactly why her mother had asked her to keep most of their life private when she was younger. There were just certain things that she had been told to keep a little more on the quiet side, a part of her had assumed that her mother just wanted her privacy, but it made sense that that was a reason Violet had kept her family so quiet and guarded. "I mean, my mom and dad always told me to keep some of the family life quiet, I guess I just didn't realize quite how deep I ran with keeping it quiet, mom always said she wanted me to have a more normal life than she had. I'm just glad we're finally doing this, and finally, you get to meet my family."
"Oh you haven't even seen in the plane yet, it's gonna have other people in it, but we're kind of going to have our own compartment," Violet said with a soft laugh, wrapping an arm around Posey, she watched as the plane made its way to boarding, knowing it meant it was time to go. Violet nodded when the waiter came, reaching down to scoop up Atlas and get him all settled in. "Can we please have the to go ordered for the Mayfaire family?" Violet smiled as the waitress went to bring out a container filled with food. "Here you go, boarding is this way." The waitress explained, calling another to help with their belongings and guide them to the plane entrance.
Without fail Violet always touched the outside of the plane as she got on, it was a little good luck tradition, and she really hoped to pass it on to Atlas one day. "Baby, look here, touch the outside of the plane, people say it's good luck, and you know we love good luck in this family," she explained, waiting for Posey to touch before she followed the hostess into the plane, making her way to their seats, they were in something that looked like a small bedroom. There were four seats, arranged facing each other and a big tv on a fold-out screen. "Home sweet home for a few hours and Atlas is about to drop off to sleep too."
