There’s a term I’ve coined with a few of my friends called “The crystal sage effect”. Very simple story behind it, one of my friends was having hardships getting past a boss on dark souls 3 named “the crystal sage” now having played the game with an even wider array of people I have noticed something. Some people struggle really hard with this boss and the other group have no issue with it. Now of course this could be applied to any boss but I’ve yet to see two groups so equally divided between finding the boss easy or hard to defeat. Of course this is a wonderful thing to bring to real life as well, there are struggles that you’ll find near insurmountable in life, hurdles that take genuine time, care and attention to get yourself over. And others won’t find difficulty in doing so, but that’s life, you will struggle with certain things that others find difficult. And you will find things easy others find hard to overcome. Everyone’s skillset and mindset are different. A very very important thing to remember in life, me thinks. I am Johnathan Darksouls
A good thought indeed! I am unsure of whether or not dark souls in general has accessibility options, likely it does though! However the group I have played with did not particularly have any color blindness or the likes however that is an official exceptional point! I also struggled greatly with the demon princes. For more time than I’d like to admit. I am Johnathan Darksouls
Wait, the clones are different colors? I've fought the Crystal Sage over a dozen times and I never even considered that that could be part of the gimmick. Now I'm going to have to see if it's colorblindness or obliviousness.
It’s not the mages themselves however it’s the magic that distinguishes real from fake! The clones so to speak will shoot blue magic, while the real one will shoot purple! I quite enjoy talking any bit of dark souls trivia! (Although I am most knowledgeable about 3) I am Johnathan Darksouls
Ohhh, I seeeeee.... Yeah I never would have noticed that without someone telling me. To me CS's magic just registers as "BLURPLE SPIKEY THING! DODGE!"

I said it once and I'll say it a hundred times, I don't care that people say that scythes or sickles are not as effective as other weapons, that's a skill issue because they make characters and fights inherently cool
I agree with this in every situation. Scythes are cool and they make everything around them cool by association.
Also, in regards to RWBY specifically I have this headcanon that Huntresses and Huntsmen often deliberately use less effective weapons like scythes or whips just because they like them and using something you like instead of what's most efficient makes you happy so you attract fewer Grimm. They're also flamboyant and performative in their fighting styles because it makes the people around them happier.
Re-watching RWBY the past few weeks and I gotta say I really wish I wouldn't have allowed the worst parts of the community to gaslight me into thinking the show was bad. Because honestly, while there are faults, its actually a rather well put together show.
i keep using 'blorbo' to refer to my own OCs to the point i forget its supposed to be a fandom term. yeah i know blorbo from my shows. and those shows? only airing inside my own brain and the dms of a few lucky friends, baby.
I made a self-insert character for a story I was trying to write in high school, and over time they evolved from 'me' to 'person who shares some traits with me'. And also at some point they became a woman for some reason. (I guess you don't need HRT if you don't exist) I never managed to finish even chapter 1, let alone the whole story, but the character still lives in my head and I think about her almost as much as I think about my real life girlfriend. Maybe someday I'll actually write that story and give her a better home than the inside of my messed up brain
“scientists don’t want you know” is a phrase that always cracks me up because if you actually meet a scientist they will be shaking and crying like an overstimulated chihuahua with the need to let you know
Something something the visceral horror GLaDOS must feel after watching Chell for so long, only for her test subject to literally go off the rails and disappear inside of her.
It's such a fantastic reversal of power! In an instant, it changes the genre from Chell's psychological nightmare into Glados's body horror.
This whole time Glados has been creating a psychosexual connection to her lab rat, and now that rat worms its way through her body in a way she can't track.
There's almost an intimacy about the rooms Chell solves being specifically tailored for her to see. They're a dishonest facade, until Chell escapes from the predetermined path and sees what Glados truly is/looks like, and ventures all the way to the heart of her, stripping her bare.
"What if you were a massive mechanical complex and I skittered through your insides and climbed into the heart of your most private and vital organs? And we were both women?"

Magic is a non-renewable resource. The only reason modern scientists had considered it a myth is because the wizards of previous eras eventually exhausted it. That was until an oil rig breeched an untapped reservoir by accident.
I wonder how this will affect the local trout population
if you work in a creative field...or if you do creative hobbies like writing or drawing...you need to make friends with people who don't do those things. you need to befriend normie Steve who has never written a story in his life. and this is because when you are in a creative job or hobby and spend all your time doing that thing, surrounded by very capable people, who you inevitably compare your own progress and skills to, you forget what the baseline human skill at that thing is. and it's usually zero. normie Steve has not written a story since the 3rd grade when his teacher made him do it. he's very good at other things that are not storytelling - but if you tell normie Steve that you wrote a full 300-page book from start to finish, he will think you're some kind of savant. he does not know ANYONE else who has done this. you need this perspective. because when you're constantly on Let's Write Stories dot Com then everyone on Let's Write Stories dot Com will inevitably be like "oh of course everyone on earth has written a book or several at this point!" and you canNOT let yourself think that. that is not even close to the average human experience. you are in a bubble. do not put yourself down. do not give up.
