Seven minutes. Seven minutes is all I can spare to coin for you.
ⓘ This is the pwHPD themselves. Histrionics identifying with this label may view their position in any dynamic similarly to a host and describe their social interactions with others with the metaphor of (hosting a guest in) their house. Hosts may, for example, view people that take attention away from them as ‘dirt being carried into their house’, or view their own worth as transactional (for example, a homeowning histrionic may feel that they give and do everything for their PD people and feel unappreciated when this does not result in them receiving attention).
ⓘ An alternative term for AP or whichever other important dynamic this word may encapsulate terminology-wise. An esteemed guest is someone who the histrionic views as an especially cherished guest who comes over frequently and that they receive most of their attention from. The EG may receive many favours from the pwHPD but also have their own relationships dismissed due to being ‘in the house of the pwHPD and hence it being seen as rude to bring others in’. Typically, interactions from people that aren’t the pwHPD will result in poor reactions from the pwHPD as they feel their house is being intruded on or their AP is leaving prematurely.
ⓘ A visitor is a person that the pwHPD tolerates in their house. They are not an EG and may not be viewed as terrible for the home environment and may receive less severe, negative reactions when interacting with the EG from the pwHPD. If overstaying their welcome (for however long), they are prone to being split on and start being seen as parasitical.
ⓘ A leech is a person the pwHPD perceives as ‘sapping their guest’. The leech may be someone that takes up the APs energy or time and prevents the pwHPD from having an interaction with them. PwHPD generally do not care about this person and are dismissive about their feelings and problems and feel apathy to any reason that would warrant their AP to spend time with them.
ⓘ Unlike the leech, the parasite is a person that the histrionic feels actively sabotages or otherwise interrupts their interactions with their AP/EG. PwHPD will feel dismissive or angry about the existence of this person and won’t care about any of their feelings or problems that may warrant the AP to stop talking to the pwHPD to deal with theirs.
ⓘ A maggot is any person that the histrionic views as ‘sullying their house or environment’. This may be someone they view as annoying, unimportant or below them.
ⓘ As this is self-indulgent, Id like to differentiate between internal and external parasites/leeches/maggots. Basically, imagine the inside and outside of a house. An external leech may be someone the pwHPD has to witness interacting with the AP but being unable to steer the attention back to them, so they are ruining the outside of the house. An internal parasite, however, may be something akin to a group chat where another person may interrupt the interaction one has been having with their AP. The pwHPD can do something about it but mainly feels uncomfortable because the parasite was ‘brought into their house’, hence internal.
In general, the negative terms ascribed to people will mainly feel like dirt or vermin being carried into the pwHPDs house or sapping time able to be spent with the AP from the outside.
Because of the association of dirt with other people, pwHPD identifying with the host terminology (or not, I just wanted to mention it) may dislike things they would enjoy if they’ve been ‘touched by someone they deem a maggot, leech or parasite’. This could be like a degraded person introducing their EG to an interest and that interest then being introduced to you. You may think it’s boring or disgusting now.
Additionally, and important to note, is that these terms can be assigned to people simultaneously. A person can be a leech and a parasite at the same time or the terms may be ascribed to them interchangeably.
