Did you sail across the sun?
knight pigeon
the work he put in for this role was genuinely fucking incredible i’m still in shock
I saw a trailer for baby reindeer (I know, it’s been out for a while, I just never watch tv) and HOLY SHIT!
sleepovers with merlin and arthur 😌
Theyre the type of boyfriends where Arthur would ragebait the fuck out of Merlin until Merlin actually gets upset to the point he distancies himself from Arthur and doesn’t talk much and you see Arthur having a straight up panic attack and running around Merlin so he could forgive him
The way he hits Merlin with the pillow 😭
I would’ve choked that man
Gwaine: where is killy?
Kilgharrah after landing: if this walking offence keeps calling me that i will killy him with fire

Arthur & Merlin | 3.12 "The Coming of Arthur - Part 1"
I love Arthur's complex character. He has so much trauma I mean the loss of both parents at a young age (Ygraine died but Uther abandoned him emotionally as well) which is a complete loss of control. Obviously he became a control freak and so hopelessly dedicated to proof to his father he is good enough. It also makes him terrified to let anyone near him ever again, it would hurt too much to be left behind again so what he does is try and push his soft heart down. Being lonely is nothing new anyway.
And yes he is angry because his father is soft with Morgana, he smiles at her and gifts her things. All Arthur gets are a crumbs of affection, a shoulder squeeze once a year maybe. It's unfair and it's heartbreaking but anger is more suitable for a young man than sadness.
Do you understand he grew up not knowing how to love, how to express it, how to navigate it?? He is so fucking afraid and lonely and he has no way to do anything about it because his own father isolated him from everyone since he indoctrinated him with sentences like "You cannot trust anybody" or "A king rules alone". Do you know how hard that is? To be scared all the time and not show it? To be so alone and have nobody to turn to? It's fucked up
Him being a knight is the only thing that made Uther show some pride in him so therefore Arthur defines his self worth over his strength. And Kindness is a weakness in his world.
So when he insults Merlin its not fine or good but its understandable. He wants to keep his distance to stop himself from getting attached.
To unlearn such deep seated coping mechanisms takes time and knowledge and understanding of what causes them and I am sick and tired of ppl calling something toxic and reducing a life spent in hell to a single word that doesn't manage to encapsulate the complexity of characters.
anatomy of a humiliation
This is the best description I’ve heard for this method, I always thought it was bullshit because I never heard a description that actually explained how to do this other than “tap your head 20 times”.
I have anxiety-induced hissing, which sounds/feels different from sound-induced tinnitus (which I have also experience). Sound-based tinnitus actually sounds like you’re “hearing” something in your ears, whilst the hissing I have feels like it’s “inside my head”, if that makes sense. But this technique still helps!!
Here’s a visual I found because I couldn’t understand the instructions well
My ringing just went away for the first time in years. What is this blissful quiet.
wait wait i gotta try this, i don’t think i’ve had Actual Silence since i was like 5
HOW THE FUCK
Reblogging to save a life, and also because, even if you don’t have tinnitus, this is totally worth trying if you like new sensory experiences.
