an interesting divergence from canon for me would be Lance stepping into Keith’s place after he leaves for the blade- not as in his place in Voltron, but his place on the team. Lance, who has never known abandonment, getting his first taste of it and being driven crazy by the lack of understanding and the anger and the denial; Lance who becomes like Keith in his stead, who snaps like a scared dog and pulls himself away and throws himself into the work and doesn’t let himself laugh. The team notices, sees him slowly veering towards that cliff of not being himself anymore, but aren’t able to do anything to help him before the whole Kuron thing, and when Keith returns, he’s faced with this new, angry Lance, and realizes that he’s looking into a mirror of his younger self, that he’s done to Lance what has been done to him so many times, and now he’s changed and grown older but Lance is still stuck here in this hurt and everything is falling apart around them and Keith has no idea what to do. Welcome to heartbreak city

He listens to like… everything tbh. I hc he has a bunch of 90s-00s throwbacks because I feel like he’s really nostalgic but that’s just me. I also feel like he def switches his music taste depending on who he’s around like he prob has playlists labeled for who he’s hanging out with.

As far as like specific artists I’m imagining: Omar Apollo, SZA (ctrl specifically!!!!), Chappell Roan, Beyoncé, Tyler the Creator (this dude defffff sings the lyrics about being a munch LOUD let’s be real), Charli xcx. I also think he’d be into a variety of k-pop (newjeans fs, twice… he’d prob stream Gnarly by Katseye as a joke to annoy the others at first but then he’d actually be into it). There’s def be some reggaeton and Latin music on there as well but I don’t have any specific artists in mind for those categories 😭
