Haven’t posted art in a very long time, but here’s something I’ve been working on. Her name is Princess Roumpinourgós Kóri tou Dionýsou, she is a Manticore demigod from Naxos. Her pride kidnaps human villagers from around Naxos and forces them to mine rubies, make jewelry, and adorn and tattoo them. Since manticores are unable to use complex tools due to their lack of opposable thumbs. Her liger-like appearance and vestigial bird wings come from her father being Dionysus.

Did a portrait of my girlfriend as a fairy princess!! This took so long, and there were a lot of challenges I had to overcome. But I grew a lot as an artist just on this piece.

Pregnant manticore mothers make necklaces out of human bones and teeth for their unborn cubs. The cubs wear these necklaces until they’re old enough to hunt and kill humans on their own. The necklaces are meant to scare humans and show them that these cubs will be viciously protected.
