You were surprised when you found out that you won a fansign. You only bought one set of albums after all, not getting your hopes up, but here you are now, standing in line, waiting to meet your favourite group.
You were way too excited, this if your first time meeting one of the groups you listen to, up close. After speaking with each member, you reach the last seat, where Martin is sitting across from.
Hiii. You wave your hand fast, smiling from ear to ear.
Hey there pretty. He smiles, looking at you. You roll your eyes playfully, “Martin and his fan service”.
First of all, I just wanna say that I really admire cortis as a whole and you inspire me with your passion for making music. You open your lock screen and stare at the time, disassociating from the rest of the world going on around you. The time read 9:37PM, you were supposed to meet at 8PM, had you been waiting this long? You didn’t even realise. You open the messages app and look at all the texts you sent.

“I’m guessing practice ran late, dw I’m not going anywheree.” Delivered 8:22PM

You close the screen and sigh. It seems he’s not coming, there’s no point in waiting anymore.

Well, does that mean that you have to snoop around on my phone? He stands up, his voice rising, not answering your question.
I wasn’t snooping around, I was just simply gonna answer whatever the text was about! Can you tell me why you’re acting like this? You’re also yelling now. This isn’t like him, this is very weird, he never has a problem with you using his phone?

This type of situation is not entirely new to you. You’ve been meeting new people for about 3 months now, trying to fill the void, but none of them ever stick to you.

He notices you’re not talking and…. Uhh… these are for you. He takes his hand from behind his back and is holding a bouquet of flowers directly in your face. Huh, this is new, none of the others ever bothered to do this. You look at him, really look at him, and you notice his slight pink cheeks, and his eyes looking down with a cute awkward smile on his face.
He seems anxious? I mean you are afraid too sure, but you didn’t expect him to seem this worried. Keonho…. You smile at him as he finally looks in your eyes, and you gently grab the bouquet.
Thank you. He now nervously rubs the back of his neck and looks around and then turns to you raising his hand for you to hold it. Shall we? You place your hand on top of his and chuckle. We shall.

The restaurant is buzzing with conversations, families, couples, friends, any type of people you would typically see in here. The lights are low with a warm, cozy ambience. The place in general is not too elegant, or too casual, it’s the perfect balance.
As the waitress shows you to your table, Keonho pulls your chair so you can sit down. “Is this all an act or is he actually this sweet?” you bow a little as a small thank you as you look at him reach for his own chair.
Are you ready to order or do you need a moment? The waitress softly smiles.
Um actually could you give us the menu. You laugh akwardly, clearly never been in this restaurant.
Of course! She says as she hands you the menus and disappears into the crowd. As you take it in your hand you look up to see that Keonho is already looking at you?
What? Do I have something on my face?
Noo no, don’t worry. He chuckles.
Then what is it? You say nervously because why the hell is he looking at you like that.
Nothing. He laughs and finally looks at the food listed on his hand.

Are you ready to order? The waiter literally popped out of nowhere. Keonho looks at you as you nod in approval and he starts to speak.

Well for myself, I would like Alfredo pasta with grilled chicken on top, a Caesar’s salad, some buffalo wings and mozzarella sticks as an appetizer, for now. You smile as you hand the book to the waiter and come to the realization that both Keonho and him are looking at you with widened eyes and shocked expressions.
Okay then. The waiter mumbles, walking away.
Was that too much? I’m sorry, obviously I’m paying for myself so you don’t need to worry, it’s just that I’m a big foodie myself and I love eating delicious food when going out- You rush to explain yourself but he cuts you off.

He himself hasn’t had many successful dates since most of the girls are usually frauds with fake personalities.

Mhm. You hum as you raise your hand and scratch the side your head, imitating the action of thinking. If I had to choose a favourite movie I would choose “To all the boys I’ve loved before”, I don’t have a favourite meal, I listen a lot to house music.
Now tell me some more. How did other dates with girls go for you? Like, before me. You place your elbows on the table and position your chin on your hands.
Oh you don’t wanna know the horrors. He jokes, lowkey(highkey) a funny guy. Some of them were acting like ai, their personalities were literally not there and they all were saying things like “my favourite hobby is cleaning”, because girl I know damn well that’s not true. They were trying to impress me too much, not really showing their true self. How about you?
If you’re asking me for my favourite hobby, it’s definitely not cleaning. You giggle and look down. I guess uh… I don’t have many hobbies but one is dancing.

As you step outside, the cold breeze hits your shoulders, you mentally scold yourself for not bringing a jacket until you feel something warm on your shoulders. Did he just… give you his jacket?
With his hands in his pockets, he turns to you. I really had fun tonight. We should plan to do this again.

You nod and he leans in. The moment your lips touch, there’s an electric feeling all over your body, his lips are pillow-soft against yours as he takes your face in his hands to deepen the kiss. You pull away after a while, keeping your hands around his neck and giggle, shyness taking over you.

It was only two weeks ago when you noticed that the paperboy was a different person than before. You had never really seen him but you had noticed the voice change. You simply didn’t pay it much thought, since it was probably a middle-aged man again on a bicycle, cycling around throwing papers at the worst locations possible.
The paperboy usually comes around your neighbourhood on Fridays. You still don’t understand why your parents pay subscription for the newspapers since they never really read them, they just look at the front page.
Well it’s Friday and your parents are not home, leaving you to all the chores around the house just because they wanted to go on a little vacation. Why couldn’t they just take you with them? You won’t survive in this boredom.
Still in your pjs, you slip on your slippers and open the door to take the trash out. You hear the bell ringing from the bicycle, is it time that you finally meet the new “paperboy”? As you put the trash in the can and turn around your face gets hit by a newspaper and you hear the bicycle stall.
Oh my god, I’m sorry, are you okay? Well that definitely doesn’t sound like a middle-aged man.
You look up to see the most handsome boy your eyes have ever encountered, but clearly still annoyed by the face-hitting paper you click your teeth together. Tsk.

After 20 minutes of sobbing on the bench, you hear quick footsteps coming your way but you don’t dare to look up. You see Martin kneel infront of you, out of breath

You immediately wrap your arms around his neck and pull him in for a hug
It’s my mom, she kicked me out of the- sobs cut off your speaking she found my cigs and she kicked me out of the house. Cries making your speaking almost inaudible
Oh love. He moves the strands of hair falling on your face and caresses your cheeks to wipe down your tears as he leans in and presses the softest kiss on your lips. He stands up and sits on the bench, pulling you on his lap to hug you.

Your parents were working all day so you were left to be alone. You decided that you wanted to help your mom out by doing the chores so she wouldn’t have to do them after a long exhausting day.
Well that backfired because once you sat down to relax and eat dinner and your parents came through the front door they immediately were looking for a reason to fight.

The minute the door closes behind you, you immediately start crying from frustration. They didn’t even try to listen to you.
You pick up your phone and immediately tap James’ contact
After two rings he picks up
Hey baby how are you?
James… you whisper, trying to catch your breath from crying. From the moment he heard you speak,panic started to settle in and cloud his brain from any logical thinking.

He hangs up. You grab a jacket, lock your door and open the window to sneak out so you wouldn’t have to come face to face with your parents once again.
The moment you step outside, a chill runs down your spine, it’s cold but the kind that feels comforting, and the moon is the most beautiful, so bright and shiny, lighting the sky, exactly the opposite of your mood right now. Once you get down, you stand on the pavement waiting for James.
After 5 minutes or so,you see a familiar car pulling up to you as he reaches and opens the door from inside with a worried expression.

As you sit in the car and close the door,without speaking you immediately lean in to hug him. He rushes to exchange the act and waits for you to start talking. When you pull away you just sit there quietly, looking down at your shoes.

A sigh escapes your lips, your breathing becomes uneven and your eyes start to well with tears. His hand reaches out to yours and he gives a gentle squeeze.
I did the chores so that my mom wouldn’t have to do them and she didn’t even acknowledge that I cleaned the house and everything. It’s like she doesn’t even notice I’m there until she thinks something is not right with me.
You pull your hand away from him and hide your face in your palms. Sobs escaping your mouth.

After a while of hugging each other and sitting in silence, you calm down and sniffle and pull away from the hug as you rest your forehead on his.

You have been slumped over homework for more than two hours. Your eyes now blinking while exhaustion takes over your body. It’s Monday. You have an exam on Friday. Your parents expect so much of you and they can’t seem to understand why you would need a break even when studying for 6 or more hours straight. You get up and walk to the kitchen to grab a snack and take a break. The moment you open the cabinet you hear footsteps behind you.
What do you think you’re doing? Shouldn’t you be in your room studying? You have an exam on Friday. Your father says,not showing even one hint of concern and sympathy.
Well I needed a break and I felt hungry so… you trail off as you turn to the cabinet again to search for your favourite chips.
You hear him shift his body from behind and immediately know that he has crossed his arms and he is probably looking at you with that same expression that he makes when you mess up.
Don’t start. You need to study hard, how else are you gonna be the top student? he yells.
I didn’t get that? Do I necessarily need to be the top student? Do you even know how much work I put into studying just so I can satisfy your extremely high expectations?
Enough! Continue studying and don’t make me argue with you. You know I’m only saying this for your future! Rage filling his eyes.

He slams his hand hard on the table
I said enough! Go to your room! You walk slowly to your room, lock the door and immediately flop on the bed, the snack long forgotten. You get your phone and open the messages app.

Well they don’t need to be neat for me to study. You say back, standing your ground.
Oh yeah? He takes your notes and rips them into pieces. I said rewrite them. I’ll be back in 5 hours. He says as he pushes your shoulder and struts to leave.
As you hear the front door close, you stare at your notes that you worked so hard for, on the bed, in a million pieces. Tears flood your eyes, making your vision blurry as your knees give out from exhaustion and you drop on the floor. Crying severely now, you can’t breathe.
“Is this what a panic attack feels like?” “Why can’t he just believe in me, I don’t get it” “I’m so tired of being the perfect child” You hear someone knock on the front door.
“Y/n? Y/n it’s Juhoon, open up!” He waits patiently in front of the door but when you don’t open quickly as you usually do he immediately senses that something is wrong. He reaches for the spare key under the mat and opens the door. And oh, once he hears your desperate cries, he doesn’t walk, he runs over.
Once he is met with your trembling figure on the ground he freezes. He hasn’t seen you this bad ever, what the hell happened? He kneels behind you and holds your shoulders.
Hey hey, please calm down I’m right here. As you collapse and fall behind onto his chest, he puts his arms around you. please don’t cry, please, I don’t know what happened but we’ll fix it together.
After a while of nonstop crying, tears are now leaving your eyes, but not as hard as before, as you relax in Juhoon’s embrace.
Please tell me what’s going on… he kisses the top of your head as he awaits your answer.
You’re too fatigued and weak to answer so you just raise your hand and point to your bed.
“Huh?” He thinks. He rotates you so you have the door at your back to stay standing and not fall over as he gets up and walks over to your bed. Once he takes a look at your destroyed notes, he realises exactly what happened and he walks over to you, kneels down and brushes a strand of hair behind your ear.
Don’t worry I got you. He says while turning to look at you on the ground. Once he cleans up he helps you stand up and walks you over to the bed. The last thing you remember is him sitting on your desk, doing something, as your consciousness drifted away.
You wake up 2 hours later and he is nowhere to be seen.
“Where’d he go?” You think to yourself as a sweet smell hits your nose. You walk over to the kitchen and there he is, making pancakes?
Hey jju. Your voice raspy from sleep and crying as you softly smile at the sight infront of you.
He turns to look at you and opens his arms for a hug. You walk over to him and as he leans down to hug you he whispers in your ear:

You breath in his scent as he speaks and once he finishes

You reach in your bag and bring out your house keys, staring at the sharp ends of it. You bring it to your arm but the moment you go to act on it you freeze. You’ve been clean for so long, Seonghyeon has helped you so much in this topic, you would disappoint him if you started to harm yourself again. You sigh deeply and throw the keys in your bag as you continue walking trying to control your thoughts and body.
Now standing out of his dorm, you raise your hand to knock and before you even do, he opens the door, grabs your face and kisses you deeply. The action makes you get emotional and your feelings that you have been keeping inside this whole time finally burst out.

You grab his hand and lower it as you interwine your fingers with his. You let go of his hand and hide your face in his chest while he wraps his arm around your shoulders.

You immediately relax in his touch and quiet sobs start escaping you as your knees give out and you slowly fall to the ground, while keonho is holding you.

You laugh at his stupid joke and wipe your tears as you turn around and face him, both of you still on your knees. You reach your hand out and touch his cheek as you lean in to kiss him. He kisses you and suddenly once you two pull away, he starts bombarding you with kisses all over your face

You laugh at the action. You’re so in love with this boy, he won’t ever know how much you admire him.
The night continues with Keonho making jokes and showing you funny videos to cheer you up while sitting together on the bed. The real thing that cheers you up though is not the jokes or the reels on instagram. It’s his soft smile.
