you knew that oliver aiku was anything but a good man. every part of you knew that he wasn't worth a damn, but with the way he pleaded for a chance with you, how could you say no? the first few months or the 'honeymoon' phase of the relationship felt like something out of a fairytale. the dates, gifts, how he'd update you throughout the day of his hectic schedule. everything slowed down before it stopped.

you weren't stupid. you heard all about him and his ways before he knew you existed, your intuition worked overtime though they say that the less you know the better. you played the oblivious role as a way to protect yourself especially when you knew that the truth would wreck you, coming home hours after practice ended. a lingering scent of perfume that wasn't yours and too feminine for it to be cologne.

that's how you found yourself in the position you where you were in now. at a bar with tears of regret, frustration, and betrayal threatening to spill over at any second. he didn't know that you just so happened to catch a glimpse of him with someone else in the background of sendou's story, you knew you deserved better. much better. tonight was the last night you'd wallow and feel sorry for yourself because of a man who wasn't shit.

the bat was half empty with the exception of a few groups running in and out, you sat there hovering over the half empty glass containing a sweet yet slightly tangy drink that burned going down your throat, it wasn't the first, way beyond the second, but it didn't fec like the third glass. you were snapped from your thoughts when you felta presence across from you.

the week after was a blur.

same old boring classes as usual, meeting up with your friends every once in a while.

you hadn't received any texts from mystery man either.

you were seated in the car with rin, the rest of the group gone into the store to buy snacks for a movie night you were about to have.

you and rin's bickering was cut short by a quiet 'ding' from your phone. both of you paused, the suspense escalating with every moment.

when you read the messages, your heart dropped to your ass. no, lower.

rin noticed the color practically draining from your face, leaning over to check out what it was on your screen.

the only sound audible was the soft hum of the idle engine. your gaze found his, desperate for a reminder you weren't alone right now.

"um, what the fuck?" you muttered, you and rin sharing equally stunned glances.

"don't reply," rin urged, making sure you wouldn't do anything stupid.

you'd barely had time to register what'd happened before the rest of the group came back, being rowdy as always.

the moment they got in the car, they noticed the unusual silence between you and rin.

"did something happen?" kunigami spoke up first, chuckling awkwardly.

without a word, you leaned over and showed him and the rest of them the text messages.

you earned a face of disgust from chigiri, an astounded "what the hell?" from isagi and just pure confusion from the rest.

"so he knows you're in the car right now, with someone."

"that means he can see you right now, then?"

you swore you felt goosebumps at the realisation, pushing down the uneasy feeling in your gut.

you pushed a door open, all of you taking turns peeking your heads out to see if there was anyone in sight (rin kinda just stayed seated.. he's there for emotional support.)

chigiri was last to inspect the surroundings, affirming there was really no one there. "the parking lot is empty."

"yeah, nobody seems to be around either," bachira added.

you sat back down, sighing to yourself, feeling yourself sink further into the seat at the realisation this wasn't going to be easy to ignore.
