I was reminiscing on an old ex - we were very toxic towards eachother, the typical freshman / junior relationship (yikes). He was very avoidant and I was an anxious attachment at that time.

My biological mother told me “Welcome to Adulthood” which throws me off a lot, because I’ve always acted like an adult.

I took care of her youngest daughter, I took care of her, I took care of others before allowing time for care.

I spoke to my biological mother as if she was the child. What child tells an adult to “Pick and Choose your friends” or “Just stay on track!”

I thought my job was to be an adult not be a child.

Suddenly I’m a slightly upset at one of my posts that went a little “viral” (not really) the person in the comments just claims that “I’m normal” because I’m demiromantic.

The only reason why I’ve came to that conclusion of being Demi-Romantic. I’ve only ever had a crush on 1 person which was my best friend of more than 3 years. She and I did try to have a relationship but we were not in a good place. Any other relationship I’ve had, I seriously didn’t know them and just figured why not or didn’t care in the sense of fully putting my genuine self.

I’ve had my boundaries crossed many times more than I can count when it came to romantic relationships. Having that standard of knowing a person before pursing them gives me control. Control is something I need to be aware of myself and be flexible with the other potential suitor.

It’s not being normal - it’s having an identity where people are aware of what is your standard and to not cross it or try to water it down, arrogant prick.

I realized that from the time I was about 13 til about 17 years old, I’ve been the one pursuing others and giving my all to people that were not deserving of it.

I was pathetic really, I showered them with all my devotion,dedication, and service - not being bashful for those that are/were in my shoes.

The more time that flies by, I’m selective with my devotion and service. Leaving it to people that have shown the same interest as I have.

It would just be - nice. To be the one being pursued for a change.

I turn 18 in about 7 hours. How exciting (not really). I kind of thought I’d be dead by now.

But - I’m unfortunately still around.

I think I may set up an appointment with my doctor to be either be put back on my meds or get an official diagnosis of some sort cause I know I’m not normal in the slightest.
