nobody ever uses casual anachronistic/modern language except serapter and reddoons. the reason serapter does it is to communicate his friendliness to the audience: he's a close friend to ivory, the POV character, and an easy way to make sure viewers feel the same way about him as she does is to make him friendly in our terms, even if it doesn't make total sense for the time period.

the reason reddoons is speaking in modern slang despite being a guest character is because the sheer power of the phrase "yo is that clownpierce" could not be stopped and nothing so silly as historical inaccuracy could keep it out
