With just 10 days to go until the Mutual Rapport AO3 collection is revealed, we wanted to give you all a heads-up on how things will be tagged on AO3 and on tumblr.
On AO3, all works in the collection will be tagged with:
the fandom tag: The Murderbot Diaries – Martha Wells
the relationship tag(s): either ART | Perihelion & Murderbot or ART | Perihelion/Murderbot, or both
the relationship dynamic tag(s): one or more of the tags Ambiguous Relationships, Platonic Relationships, Queerplatonic Relationships, or Romantic Relationships, according to the creator's intention
the event tag: Murderbot Diaries Mutual Rapport 2026
These are the minimum required tags for works in the collection; individual creators will also tag for the contents of their works according to their own discretion.
On tumblr, as part of our guessing game and in order to promote the fanworks created for the event, this blog will publish individual fanwork spotlights for each work in the collection.
The spotlights will be posted, over a 36-hour period starting at 12am UTC on July 10, to the following main fandom tags: #the murderbot diaries, #murderbot diaries, #tmbd, #murderbot, and #perihelion tmbd
Each spotlight post will also be tagged with the following, as applicable:
the rating tag: #rating: g, #rating: t, #rating: m, #rating: e
the relationship tag(s): #relationship: ART & Murderbot, #relationship: ART/Murderbot
the relationship dynamic tag(s): #ambiguous relationships, #platonic relationships, #queerplatonic relationships, #romantic relationships
the type of fanwork: #fanart, #fanfiction, #podfic
Every spotlight post will also be tagged with the event tag #mutual rapport and the blog organization tags #guessing game and #fanwork spotlight.
We'll also be posting teasers for some of our creators' works in the coming days, using most of the same tags, with the exception of the blog organization tags (instead we'll use #fanwork teaser). All teasers will be safe for work but will indicate the rating of the work they come from.
Please share this post! We expect the event collection will hold around 60-65 works, and we want everyone to be able to curate their fandom experience however they need to once those works are revealed.
