Imagine how horrible the withdraw from the pills given to you by BL/ind would be. Better yet, imagine how scared you'd be escaping Battery City for the first time. You felt safe in Battery City, secure, like nothing could ever hurt you due to the amount of exterminators and draculoids there. The pills made you numb, and if you didnt feel happy, you didnt feel anything at all. Now that you're in the desert, you feel scared, paranoid, vulnerable to danger, things you've never felt before. Its so overwhelming, you just want to take a little pill and make it all go away. You wanna go back home, but you know that the punishment for escaping would be infinitely worse than what the desert brings. It'd take months, probably years to finally get used to all of the changes. But at least you finally feel a sense of freedom.
Recently I made a post about how bad the withdraw from bl/ind administered pills would be. Well... what if I took it a step further and said that maybe some killjoys who are having an extra hard time coming clean and during raids in Battery City, they sneak a few bottles of sterelax into their bag? Hide it so their other team members dont know. Take a little pill or two when days are extra stressful. Gradually falling back into their old habits. Ooh, imagine how pissed their colleagues would be when they find out a killjoy is still taking sterelax, like a parent finding lsd tablets under their kids bed.
going slightly insane at how much cooler danger days lore could be if it was more centered around actual southern californian culture (or rather, the blending of the cultures that live in socal). compton is in like zone 3 how have we not done anything with that. where are my killjoys with lowriders. wouldn’t it be neat if there were destroya and/or phoenix witch statues that were created by salvaging broken virgencitas. or if bad luck beads were altered rosaries/prayer beads from any of the smorgasbord of cultures that live in socal. killjoys with cultural elements to their outfits that they don’t completely know the meaning behind (bc of forced assimilation from blind) but know they’re important regardless. zone speak/slang that blends different dialects and languages. not just a rebellion for freedom of expression but for freedom of culture and religion and preservation of knowledge hhhhhhh
