The Eighth and Twelfth Houses
I have written about the eighth house before; however, I find myself thinking about why I shouldn't write a textbook example of what happens when a native has these two houses quite prominently represented but leans toward destruction. I always say that it depends on how a person grasps thingsāit depends on how the planets speak to each other. It depends on how a person understands the demands of the planets, how they understand how the planets can communicate together, and above all, how they can handle it all. This is because even a quadrature or an opposition can be much more positive than a sextile or a trine. Personally, I am the type of person who loves precisely oppositions and quadratures. While a sextile and a trine are fine, "friction" gives me more. No wonder; I am able to grow in the mud. However, for me, a conjunction is like a roller coaster. I notice this every year on my birthday when those planets group together and form conjunctions with the native positions of the planets. It is such a swing, but one that shows me what to let go of and what to keep, to put it in layman's and simplified terms.
But I am moving on to the practice of the 8th and 12th houses, taking it as an absolute textbook example of what happens when a person has a full 8th and 12th house and, instead of grasping it, goes into self-destruction. I will write from the position of what I notice, what I have the opportunity to see in the native. I consider the eighth and twelfth houses to be very complicated in that a person stands at a crossroads. I dare say that it is precisely these houses that either launch us to the heights as one moves toward their innermost potential or, conversely, if one does not grasp them, they go into the greatest, rawest self-destruction, as one is destroyed not only by internal demons; the 12th house is a "prison"/"sanatorium," but one does not need to have personal experience with them! One can be a prisoner or in a sanatorium of their own thoughts and emotions, which truly do not have a pleasant impact on their surroundings. I often notice that many schizophrenics (not everyone, mind you) have the 8th and 12th houses represented. The 12th house in particular is somewhat "spicy." However, I want to write that a person who does not grasp these two houses, who does not move toward that higher potential (to be fair: if grasped, natives of these two houses are truly great healers and therapists who indeed often draw from their own experiences in their practice. Over time, they often take their childhood and their ancestral burden as a "blessing" for growth and for their own distinctive practice. Let's be honest: a person who is a vegetarian or vegan should not write books about meat. I mean to say that many therapists/psychologists may have schooling and various trinkets hanging on the wall, but they often lack that "skin on skin" personal experienceāonly through their patients. People who go into self-destruction with these houses often gravitate toward intoxicating substances, which is the greatest sign that the person has not grasped what they were supposed to. It can often seem that the individual has tendencies to act like a person with paranoid schizophrenia, even though they are not diagnosed in any way. Certainly, both of these houses are often interpreted as houses of "demons or evil spirits." I probably don't even need to write what happens when the houses are not grasped within the lineage and ancestral line, right? But I will put here what I notice with the native within their ancestral line, what is known to me, and the pattern I have had the chance to see:
A major problem with women or men. It depends a lot on the gender. The problem reaches very deep; however, I am talking about a problem that turns into aggression with age. Raw aggression. Which, however, hasāI still can't name it. It is a strange kind of energy. As I have written before: especially in times of the greatest crisis, the 8th house and the native can mobilize perfectly if they understand what the planets and the 8th house want from them.
I am coming to the stay in prison or a sanatorium (I write sanatorium because I don't like "clinic" or "madhouse"), where often neither one nor the other helps. I want to write that these people from that lineage return without result in the context of everything (even prison is an institution meant to reform people. Here I could mention that the aggression toward the "object of interest" already turns into absolute rage. These are strong words, but I tell myself I want to describe things bluntly, because the native is a textbook example of what becomes of a person who cannot work with themselves. It is a demonstration of when an individual himself fails in all aspects of his life and being.
In conclusion, I want to write: this is only one person out of many who truly did not grasp what they were supposed to grasp. A person can hide behind their childhood, but I want to say: I think every generation has gone through something since childhood. My generation too. Childhood is never an excuse or an alibi. Especially when one meets people who took that piece of shit and started doing something about it all. Our map is the potential that a person has within them, and yes, sometimes many things must be waded through for it to be fulfilled. Nevertheless, sometimes even a person's destructive energy is a certain potential. Yes, because even that energy has a place here, just like the native who lives it all. What his/her fate or the surroundings' fate is further, however, is a big question. I want to mention: again I repeat, not everyone who has anything in the 12th house is a schizophrenic or has that trace of schizophrenia or another illness (I myself see the 12th house more as mental and psychological illnessesāit is not a requirement, however.
