Because I guarantee their fear and discomfort and emotional distress is greater than your distress from witnessing it

Hey, my partner Heather is really struggling with coming to terms with her disability. She has been on a steep health decline and hasn't been able to go outside or even get around the house without hurting herself. She's exhausted, frustrated, and upset because she can't do the things she used to be able to do.

A wheelchair wouldn't help her do *everything* she used to but could help her get comfortable with her new limits and be able to respect those limits. Without it, she's overstepping those boundaries daily and that hurts her more. It's not purposeful, she just wants to feel free again.

We are doing everything we possibly can to raise money for her. I'm doing free art for anyone who donates $20 or more, and we are sharing everywhere. It feels so exhausting and humiliating.

This isn't a sob story, it's just the harsh truth.
