Things the Cast of Cabin Pressure Taught Me:

Martin: Your dreams are never inconceivable. Even if you fail every time you try, never give up on yourself, even when everyone else has, even when you’re living off bread and pasta. There’s a captain’s hat waiting for you if you keep fighting.

Douglas: Don’t lose your cool. If you can stay calm, you can scheme your way through (almost) anything. Don’t count your failures, even with three divorces and an alcoholic past, you can still be a glorious sky god. Make friends - you never know when you’ll need to rely on them for importing a mostly chocolate thing.

Carolyn: Don’t settle for what life thinks you should have. Instead of being a little old lady, you can be a CEO if you want. If you’re willing to take risks with the things you have, you can achieve anything (see also: Martin).

Arthur: Remember to be happy. He’s killed a man, he’s got an asshole for a father, by all “real” standards, he’s failed as a grown man (lives with his mother, has a ridiculous job) and he’s still innocent and carefree. You don’t have to be jaded and cynical to be an adult. You can see the good in life and in others. Your failures are only failures if you decide they are.
