Neji entered the village the way everyone did, on foot and looking wet and miserable. In-climate weather was, ironically, very much in his favour for this mission. Infiltrations meant for extraction required you blend in. Generally ducking your head was a little suspicious but not so with the rain driving into your face.
Besides, the guards wanted to be out here even less than he did, and were quickly letting people in, only paying attention to people with larger amounts of luggage, or waggons.
Blessed were the minimalist packers.
Quickly, Neji made his way to the place he was supposed to meet their spy. All he knew about them was they would know him and have the right turn of phrase. Not the best information heâd ever been given, but heâd donned the appointed costume - simple workerâs clothing and somewhat gaudy but worn happi covered in boats of all things - and here he was. The meeting place was public - a bookstand of sorts - and not very busy today. Which was the downside of the rain. People who stayed in it stuck out.
âEvening,â the man running the booth said, âI doubted weâd get customers today!â
âI promised to pick something up from my travels, and a friend said to meet here,â Neji said, slipping into the part of you usual traveller, more interested in memorabilia for his relatives than anything else. The shop keeper nodded and they set up in a stream of senseless chatter - who are you buying for, what do they like - until Neji felt someone approach.
Subtly he turned - he couldnât very well reveal he was capable of chakra sensing - and spotted movement. So did the store keeper who waved happily. âI think your friendâs here,â he said and Neji took the cue to turn to whoever it was he was extracting.
She despised the rain. It put a damper on her mood and it absolutely ruined her hair she so carefully preened and cared for everyday. Though it did provide benefits for the mission she were to participate in. Mi Sun was ducked under her paper umbrella, droplets of rain falling from the edges as they slid down the oiled surface. She had arrived in the village a handful of days ago, carefully scoping out the area in search of information on the group of rogue ninja who called themselves the Akatsuki.Â
The bookstore was in sight and she quickly slips inside, shaking off her umbrella before leaving it at the door to dry. It wasnât hard to spot who her accomplice was, sensing his chakra and seeing his distinctive eyes. Of course Tsunade had informed her prior who she would be meeting, though her interest was piqued upon laying her own eyes on him.Â
Her lips stretch slightly in a friendly smile and she waves back at the shopkeeper, flitting to Nejiâs side quickly and offering him a small smile as well. âI hope I didnât make you wait long,â She says, slipping into comfortable conversation with him as well feigning interest in the different items that lined the shelves of the store. âAnd to think the sky was so blue earlier.âÂ
