describe all of the shitty parts of Reid's life in detail

When Spencer was just a mere 4-year-old boy, he was pursued by a pedophilic rapist murderer. Basically, a man attempted to rape and murder Spencer. If it weren’t for his mother’s instincts and their neighbor’s dad murdering the pedophile before he had a chance to get to Spencer, well…

Spencer was a boy genius in a Las Vegas public high school. Because of this, he was subjected to severe bullying. This canonically includes being beaten up and emotionally tormented. One of the stories he shared includes him being lured by the prettiest girl in school behind the field house. There, the football team tripped him naked and tied him to the field goal. Many students were there, watching and laughing. Another story includes a pretty girl blindfolding him before taking his shirt off and the school once again laughing at him.

When Spencer was 10 or so, his father walked out on him and his mother. His mother was being subjected to her diagnoses of paranoid schizophrenia and Spencer found himself in a parental role at a very young age.

(There is a mysterious period between the time Spencer’s father left until he joined the Bureau. Sometimes I headcanon that Reid whored himself out for money because how the hell would he be able to care for himself and his mother financially for 8 years while still being a full time student.)

In 1x06, Reid was taken hostage alongside Hotch by the UnSub they were hunting. In order to escape from the situation, Hotch had to beat up Reid. Following the plan, Spencer managed to shoot the UnSub. It was claimed that this was the first person Spencer ever killed. Afterwards, he was unsure how he felt about it, but it was claimed in season 10 that he had trouble coping for a while following the incident.

In 2x01, Spencer briefly caught on fire. Not as traumatizing as later events, but I know I would have been pretty disturbed.

In 2x11, Spencer found himself identifying with a teenager with murderous tendencies. The teen then attempted suicide and Spencer was the one to try and save him. Luckily he did, but the event left Spencer upset and confused.

In 2x14, Spencer was kidnapped by the UnSub they were hunting. Through the entire episode of 2x15, he was tortured by the Unsub, Tobias Hankel. Tobias whipped the bottoms of Reid’s feet. He forced him to watch the murders of other people and blamed the murders on Reid. He shot empty gun slots at Reid’s head with one bullet in the cartridge. He forcibly injected the narcotic Dilaudid multiple times into Reid. He beat Spencer. Tobias did this all trying to force a sin confession out of Spencer. Spencer even had a heart attack halfway through the episode due to the stress (and pain) of the situation. At the end of the episode, Reid confessed to sending his mother to a psychiatric hospital, and Tobias made Reid dig his own grave so he could bury Reid alive. Luckily, Reid managed to kill Tobias but afterwards, he stole the Dilaudid out of his pocket.

After the kidnapping event, Reid was addicted to the narcotic Dilaudid (drugstore heroin). In 2x16, he was high af and airy and unfocused. In 2x17, he was irritable and rude and pushy. In 2x18, he was withdrawn and finally admitted he needed help at the end of the episode. The drug addiction was never reported by his superior but Reid continued to struggle throughout all seasons to come. In 3x12 he saw a young man die in front of him and felt the need to start using again. In 3x16 he went to his first N.A. meeting. In 4x24 he practically screamed at a doctor that he didn’t want any narcotics. In 7x02 he told JJ he was very close to shooting up after one of his best friends died.

In 3x02, Reid was left a note by his pseudo-father, Gideon. Gideon had run off, leaving the BAU behind. Reid was crushed that once again, a father figure left him.

In 4x03, Spencer went undercover with Emily to investigate child abuse in a cult. During the investigation, a police raid happened and Spencer and Emily were kept within the cult for their protection. It was found out however by Cyrus, the cult leader, that one of them was an FBI agent. When he threatened Reid with a gun, Emily jumped in saying she was the agent. Later, he was hit in the gut a couple times with a rifle and nearly blown up.

In 4x20, the UnSub (Adam) had DID just like Reid’s torturer in 2x15 (Tobias) did. Spencer felt guilty he couldn’t save Adam, and had flashbacks to 2x15.

In 4x24, Reid was infected with anthrax. His speech became jumbled, he couldn’t think straight, and he started coughing up blood. Thankfully, the doctors were able to stabilize him.

In 5x01, Spencer was shot in the knee. He was on crutches and had a cane for half of season 5, though this is due to the actor actually fucking up his knee.

In 6x12, Spencer started having severe migraines. He went to numerous doctors and they all said he was physically fine and the cause might be psychosomatic. Spencer freaked out since his mother has schizophrenia and it is genetically passed. He claimed he was not crazy at the end of the episode before storming out of the office.

In 6x18, one of Spencer’s best friends, Emily, died. He cried in the arms of his other best friend JJ. It was said that he went to JJ’s house for 10 weeks in a row afterwards simply to cry.

Somewhere between season 6 and season 7, Spencer was suspended from the Bureau.

In 7x11, Spencer was taunted by the UnSub about not being smart enough to catch him. Spencer had an emotional crisis on whether he was doing the right things with his life. His friends also forgot about his birthday, poor guy.

In 8x12, Spencer’s girlfriend, Maeve, was abducted by her stalker, Diane. Spencer figured out that Diane was trying to steal everything from Maeve, including himself. He offered to give himself up if Maeve was to be set free. He was blindfolded and felt up (yes, under the clothes) by Diane before she non-consensually kissed him. When Diane realized Spencer didn’t want her back, she shot him in the arm. Then she killed Maeve and herself in front of Spencer. In 8x13, it was said Spencer went into 2 weeks of depression in which he didn’t answer his phone or door and didn’t even leave his apartment.

Throughout season 8, Spencer, along with the rest of the BAU team, was targeted by a deranged stalker. In the finale of season 8, Spencer was in a helicopter that was hijacked by the stalker and subjected to crash. The extent of injury was never explicitly classified, though I’d be surprised if he didn’t get at least a minor concussion.

In 9x14, his best friend JJ was kidnapped and I’m sure he underwent some sort of emotional duress during that time.

In 9x23, Spencer was shot in the neck during a shootout with their suspect. In 9x24, he passed out from the injury and was rushed to the hospital in very bad state. He went through surgery and miraculously the bullet didn’t hit anything fatal and he survived. Word got out to the ring of UnSubs however, and the ringleader came to the hospital to try and finish the job of killing Spencer. The team figured out the plan, however, and Garcia locked the door to his room and pulled the fire alarm. Later, a man disguised as a nurse tried to kill Spencer again by attempting to inject a drug Spencer was severely allergic to into his IV. Garcia ended up shooting the man to save Spencer. At the end of the episode, Spencer said goodbye to his mother figure, Blake.

In 10x13, Spencer found out his father figure, Gideon, died. He cried the entire episode.

So yes. This is the poor and unfortunate life of my sunshine, Spencer Reid.

Graceland 2x01 - Full kidnapping and torture sequence of events

I decided to post the whole thing from the second Mike gets taken to Charlie running in to hug him in relief. So this includes Mike getting taken, his team trying to find him, Mike being forced to strip and shoved into the trunk of a car, Mike being tortured, and then rescued.

Season 1:

1x04: Held at gunpoint, fear, emotional whump when someone shoots himself in front of him, he’s visibly shaken up and distraught for the rest of the episode, Charlie worries about him, he’s on the verge of tears at the end of the episode.

1x06: Emotionally distraught when he thinks Johnny is dead. Stray tear. Gives Johnny a big bear hug in relief.

1x08: Forced to listen and participate in the torturing of someone to maintain his cover. Attacked and choked out. Fights back and lands some hits but he passes out when he’s choked, then when he wakes up (he grimaces) Briggs takes hold his hand and looks all worried whispering comforting things as Mike wakes up. Also Charlie is super worried about him. She thinks he was dead for a minute.

1x09: Cuts his finger on a glass frame and it bleeds a lot, he gets stabbed in the stomach, on the ground in a lot of pain, Paul presses a towel against his wound, he groans, passes out, wakes up in the hospital groggy and in pain. Emotional whump as he confesses his mission to Paige (trusting her) and she hates him for it.

1x10: Comes home nervous thinking the whole house knows his secret, has a bag with his prescription, checked out against medical advice, Johnny pokes his wound playfully and he winces telling him to not do that, goes to bed, sweaty while staying on the couch, bloody bandage and eleven stitches (new house record according to Briggs), “wind sprints are out of the question but i can walk. Gingerly”, charlie hugs him and he says “ow ow ow” and she says “sorry sorry”, good view of his stitches while being prepped for prison, walking gingerly in the yard, holding his arm against his wound, gets attacked and beaten up by Bello in prison, he’s kicked hard in the stomach right where he was stabbed and punched a lot, lost of writhing, stumbles into the house, carried to the couch by Paige and Johnny, he lays down in pain, everyone worries about him, sweating while at the FBI office cause he was forced to go in right after being attacked,

1x11: Falls asleep on the couch

Season 2:

2x01: Caza puts a hit out on him. He comes back to Graceland to be bait. Gets kidnapped, forced to strip down to his underwear, shoved into a car trunk, and tortured by asphyxiation with a bag, tied up with ropes, rescued by team, worried Charlie (hug) and Briggs checking on him (face touching).

2x05: Paige tells him he needs to sleep with his boss to get her what she wants and he almost does but can’t go through with it.

2x06: Forced to watch and participate in the torture of someone to get information. Anger outburst. Forced to go undercover as someone who wants to buy women in order to save Paige. Paige slaps him. Emotional whump (on the verge of tears)

2x09: Bad guy pokes him hard in the eye, makes it bleed and tear up, punched, head bleeding, cut to his palm from knife, unable to save Lina, covered in blood, almost died, knocks himself out with a crow bar, unconscious on the ground, painful wake up, grimace, has to burn Lena’s body, crying, angst,

2x10: Emotionally and physically exhausted. Manipulated by Paige to go home and get some sleep so she could perform her own operation and we get some cute sleepy Mike. Held at gunpoint and almost shot by Sid.

2x11: In Paul’s dream he attacks Mike, throws him over a railing down one story, drowns him, and then buries him in the house. In real life, he nearly gets shot by bank robber but saved by Paul. Paul spends most of the episode planning on how to murder him.

2x12: Gets emotional talking to Paige about how he felt when Sulla hit her. Headbutted in the face by Sid, black eye, ripped suit jacket, ice pack, bruised knuckles, applies medicine to cuts on knuckles,

2x13: Black eye from last episode, shot in the stomach, hides away in some warehouse, weak, sweaty, in pain, laying on the ground with his coat as a blanket, barely conscious, goes to the hospital eventually, bullet lodged in his side and he got lead poisoning, his lung collapsed on the surgery table and he was hooked up to a ventilator to breathe, Sid then kills him by crushing his ventilation tube and suffocating him.

Season 3:

3x01: In the hospital still, MRI, wheelchair, winces, iv put into arm, big wave of pain making him cry out writhe groan and grimace, use of morphine button, leaves hospital too soon ripping out his iv, gets pushed to the ground where he moans and writhes in pain, holds his side often

3x02: Sleeps on the couch because it was too painful to go up the stairs, takes a dose of oxy, Paul warns him to watch himself with the oxy because “it’s dangerous” , gets dressed down by his boss who calls him a failure, takes two more pills (clearly high now) while Jakes tells him he looks like crap and that he watched him struggle with a flight of stairs, Mike tells us he died for six minutes, “you want to hurry your sick ass back to active duty”, goes to the bureau for a physical, see his stabbing scar from season 2 below his gunshot wound, asks for more pills but doesn’t get them cause a new prescription would mean no active duty, gets a little emotional after he tells Paige what happened to Lina, rides a wave of pain while in bed at night and ends up taking two more oxy pills, grimaces, continues to hold his side in pain throughout the episode

3x03: Still taking oxy, almost gets shot because he dissociates and counts a bunch of chickens, goes to a drug dealer on the street and buys some vicodin, slight emotional whump when he talks about his dream/vision to Briggs (wipes away a tear)

3x04: Fake bruise, held at gunpoint, head slammed down on a table, hair grab,

3x05: Continues taking oxy, slight sleep deprivation, punched by Jakes, steals oxy from Charlie

3x06: Begins going through withdrawal while in prison. Muscle aches, sweating, shaky, weak and tired, pain. Gets high again

3x07: Emotional whump! Comes out of a two day high and returns to the team’s intervention for him. He gets really upset and angry and lashes out, wipes away a tear before storming out. Goes to his room to pack but Charlie stops him and he ends up breaking down and crying into her shoulder, he tells her how much it hurt so he kept taking the pills and now he can’t stop but he wants to stop.

3x08: Knocked unconscious, taken captive, duct taped to a wood post, begins going through to withdrawal while held captive, disoriented, sweaty, in pain, rescued by Paul, Paige, and Johnny, hugs himself, accidentally shoots Gusti, steals a syringe of morphine but decides not to use it when he sees a flyer with his birds on it and a number for a rehab clinic, decides to quit taking the pills cold turkey and asks Paul for help going through detox, Paul handcuffs him to his bed while he goes through detox and withdrawal, great team caretaking, sweating, vomiting, writhing in pain, desperation, pleading, touch aversion, sobbing, fever, hand holding, bedside vigils, is carried, ice bath, dunked underwater, fever dreams,

3x11: Nice forceful chin grab. Angrily punches Briggs.
