How To Train Your Dragon: Homecoming (2019)
iām yelling, yāall. idc, this is constantly how it is in my head.
Nobody:
Dick Grayson and Jason Todd:
edmond dantes (count of monte cristo 2002) + text posts
so like on a scale from jean valjean to edmond dantes how well did you take being thrown in prison for a really long time for a minor crime or something you didnāt even do and then end up in the possession of a lot of wealth afterwards
relatable
I know its been like 10 million years but Iām. Still. Not. Over. This. Crap!
and I need to make this post about it.
āLance will end up with someone he needs rather than wantsā
He clearly doesnāt WANT Keith but he does goĀ to Keith when heās uncertain about himself or needsĀ reassurance:Ā
Keith reassures him of course:Ā
And he leaves feeling reassured and confident about himself:
And sometimes Keith goes to him:
And reassures him once again:
And he leaves feeling sure of himself and confident again:
āLance will end up at the opposite of where he startedā
Do I even need to explain this one?
He starts off hating and arguing with Keith, who he treats as his rival:Ā
But eventually learns to respect and care for Keith as his leader and friend:
It was also mentioned by one of the producers of Voltron that the relationship between Keith and Lance is probably the one that develops the most out of any other in the show.
āLance will end up with someone who is self assured and knows herself so that he can become that same person and know himself tooā
Iām aware that Allura is self assured and knows herself but I definitely donāt think that she makes Lance sure of himself in any way, shape or form. In fact he often feels unsure of himself and insecure when he thinks about Allura:
He doesnāt feel good enough for her:
āAnd I canāt tell her how I feel. She wouldnāt take me seriously anyway. I donāt have anything to offer. Iām just a boy from Cuba not a space prince like Lotorā
Heck even when he wants to ask her out heās unsure:
āMaybe this just isnāt the right timeā
Even on their date this is the face he makes?:
But Lance literally becomes the paladin of the red lion, Keithās lion and becomes Keithās right hand man:
āAnd weāre gonna do it with the Lance thatās the paladin of the RED lionā¦ā
AND we get an actual quote from Keith where he says:
āI donāt care where I come from, I KNOW WHO I AM.ā
when he unlocks his marmora sword
āso that he can become that same personā¦ā:
āā¦and know himself tooā:
āā¦and the Lance WHO KNOWS EXACTLY WHO HE IS and what heās got to offerā
āLance will be someoneās first choiceā
The mice tell Allura that Lance has feelings for her:
Two episodes later she kisses Lotor:
āLance will be someoneās first choiceā
Keith chooses Lance to live and Lance chooses Keith:
Keith sees Lance first when Shiro tells him that he needs to see the paladins in order to get to them:
He chooses Lance out of everyone to lead when heās leaving:
āLance, lead the way, keep the team togetherā
He calls out to Lance first when heās in trouble:
āLanceās endgame will be a slow burnā
Now I know that Allurance may have been a slow burn to an extent but typically a slow burn involves a romance that is slowly built up for both individuals. While Lanceās feelings for Allura was shown throughout the series, her feelings toward him were only ever made clear within the space of maybe 3 or 4 episodes. Their relationship only ever had a beginning and an end, there wasnāt really any in between. Plus to add onto that Lance never really developed his feelings for Allura, which is what typically happens in slow burn romances, he always liked her from the minute she fell into his arms, those feelings werenāt something he had to slowly become aware of or accept they were just there.
Unlike:
Starting out as rivals:
Having a bonding moment that shows that they donāt entirely hate each other and that they can work together:
But still having their ups and downs and being put into uncomfortable situations where theyāre forced to work together:
but then their relationship gets a little deeper and they have to support one another even if it makes them feel uncomfortable or makes them sacrifice something so that the other is happy:
and then thereās a tear in their developing relationship:
aka Keith leaves and Lance is lonely even though he may not know why:
āyeah who am I gonna make fun of?ā
But then theyāre reunited:
But thereās still some tension and old hurt there:
āKeith. You ran away. Maybe you should have just stayed away.ā
Lance is clearly hurt by Keithās absence and doesnāt want it to happen again:
āWait. Where are you going?ā
But they still work well together because theyāre in sync and a pretty good team:
And then they talk to each other again and share moments together when things are quiet:
and are slowly helping each other heal together:
and they recall old times and their journey continues:
Klance is so slow burn that 8 seasons of Voltron plus time skips werenāt even enough to show their entire build up and relationship growth. This isnāt how their story ends, its still developing. They end up together in the future but their entire story is like a million word slow burn fanfic.
Sorry for the long post but I had to put all these thoughts together in one place. Thanks for reading. Love yāall and all thatās leftĀ to say is KLANCE IS CANON KING!
OK BUT THAT SEXY SCENE WHERE THE BLACKSMITH MANDOLORIAN KICKS STORMTROOPER ASS SO HARD THAT SHE BROKE THEIR FUCKING HELMETS
Calling it now, Moff Gideon is gonna track down and recruit Boba Fett to help him find Din and the child. Boba hates Jedi and anything to do with them, and the Moff has enough Beskar to craft him a brand new and improved set of armor.
I have spoken
Nothing has ever been funnier than that meta joke sequence in The Mandalorian finale, where two stormtroopers try to shoot a can in the road and they both have such terrible aim that one actually checks his gun to make sure itās not broken. Pure gold! š
The Mandalorian: if you take off my helmet Iāll shoot you
IG-11: lol yeah youāve already done that and howād it work out for you punk ass bitch shut the hell up
THE SCENE WHERE THE STORMTROOPERS WERE SHOOTING AT THE CAN AND COULDNT HIT IT HAD ME ROLLING
Look, thereās got to be a loophole or clause in the Creed or the Way or whatever that allows for the removal of the helmet in life-threatening situations and/or for routine medical treatment. Because you canāt have your soldiers dying of totally treatable injuries and/or illnesses. Thatās not noble, itās dumb and totally counterproductive to the survival of the Tribe.
Dyn Djarin is just a really stubborn, dramatic asshole.
That small pile of mandalorian armor reminds me of the holocaust museum. And the helmet that Dyn picks up looks like it was made for a child. It was really powerful to see him collapse to his knees in horror and anguished grief. His tribe was few enough when we first met them now thereās very little left. If the armorer hadnāt given him that motivating speech of picking up and rebuilding again the grief and guilt wouldāve been unbearable. Iām grateful she doesnāt condemn or burden him further with itās all because of you they are both aware but the important thing is now to rebuild, itās the way of the mandalore.Ā
The Mandalorian: *gives up hope*
Baby Yoda: *coos*
The Mandalorian: dang u rite tho
I see a lot of people, myself included, cracking on Din forĀ ābeing willing to die from a simple treatable head woundā but that demonstrates a clear misunderstanding of combat medicine and head injuries. Cara is being glib when she saysĀ āYou just got your bell rungā because I guarantee you that a shock trooper understands better than almost anyone that a brain bleed will kill you faster than almost anything.
Din as right, 100%. He wasnāt going to make it. The bacta spray being a cure-all is a little bit of Star Wars woo and I know that Iām overthinking this but it really needs to be taken more seriously because not only does it humanize him (not that thereās any shortage of that), it also shows that thereās limitations to what the beskar can protect him from. When Cara pulled her hand back and it was covered in blood, that was blood coming from his ear. To a wartime soldier, that is almost certainly the end of the line.
tl;dr I love this show with my whole entire heart.
