I’ve been gone for a bit, but I remember searching through tumblr tags looking for support after my losses in 2015 and so many women would leave the app and their story unfinished so I wanted to make sure I posted at least 1 last update in case someone was in my shoes and was looking for hope. My rainbow baby Mia Skye arrived on 2/15 at 9:40 am ET. 8lbs 4oz and 21 inches long. She is perfect. I never thought I would get here and I would give birth to my perfect rainbow but here we are 😭❤️❤️

What to say to someone who has had a miscarriage...

I can’t blame people for saying the wrong thing. Most people are genuinely trying to help…people just aren’t every experienced in having a conversation with someone about a recent miscarriage. Here is a list of things that have been said to me over the last couple of weeks. 

AVOID

1. “You’re lucky, at least you know you can get pregnant”. Um… no, lucky is not how I feel right now. 

2. “I’m sure that next time it will be ok/ you can just try again”. You can’t know this, although the chance is slim it could very well happen again. Besides I’m not thinking about next time. I’m grieving a real loss. How would you feel if I told you to go out and just buy a new puppy because you dog died. 

3. “It happened for a reason/ everything happens for a reason”.  Just no. While physically, yes there was a reason, what reason is there that this should happen to me, why now, what did I do to deserve it? This is what I ask myself when you tell me that everything happens for a reason. 

4. “Your young, there is plenty of time”. This was said to me my a doctor and nurse, the night of my miscarriage…not helpful. Besides 26 isn’t that young when it’s taking a long time to conceive. 

WHAT TO NOT SAY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES

1. “I was thinking of donating my eggs, so you could always have some if it comes to it. Overwise It will be a waste of my eggs when I get my tubes tied”. There is so much wrong with this statement, that I don’t even know where to start… 

Somewhat unrelated

2. “Don’t worry, It was exciting and adventurous”. (Backstory: this was said after I had apologised for having a panic attack in front of my girlfriends). I’ m glad my pain was exciting for you. 

INSTEAD TRY

1. “I love you”. 

2. “I’m here for you”. 

3. “I know how much you wanted that baby”.

“At least you didn’t carry the baby and it died during childbirth”

So she is the most stubborn baby ever 🙃 I guess we will have to wait until she is here to see what she looks like!! She was head down and super squished. Like really squished! The ultrasound tech kept emphasizing how squished she looked 😂. The arrow is pointing to her squished nose 😂 love her so much and can’t wait to see her face!!!!! 😍

My last Christmas

This is my last Christmas as just an angel mommy. My last Christmas of feeling incomplete. My last Christmas with the boyfriend, me, and Thor. Next year I will be celebrating with my rainbow baby and I can’t wait!

I can’t stop crying

Today I’m feeling hella emotional 😭 I came to terms with the possibility of only having angel babies and I’m 31 freakin weeks pregnant 😭😭😭😭 I’m washing all of her clothes this week and setting up all of her things 😭 feels so real now!

Ignore the water stain on my belly 🙄.... 31 weeks! Single digits left! I can’t believe she will be here so soon 😭 can’t wait to see her little face 😩 and kiss her little cheeks! Belly is growing like crazy right now! Legit feels bigger everyday!

Hospital visit

Had a little scare yesterday so I called and they told me to go to L&D. Had super bad tight cramps and then baby girl wasn’t moving and she’s usually a little MMA fighter in there. We went and got monitored and she is doing fine. Not sure what the pain was but all seems good now. So stressed out that something will go wrong though 😩😩

How did you both meet?

We officially met in high school but grew up in the same neighborhood so I would see him around. I was 18 he was 17. He was the weird kid that would stare at me. You know when you can tell someone has a crush on you..? Well yea I could tell he had a crush on me but I was not interested and was in a relationship at the time. 6 years later he slid into the Facebook DMs asking to take me out 😂 I was all dressed up with nowhere to go(my friends cancelled on me) and I was single for about 2 years at that time so I said why not? We went out and had a blast! The rest is history. 😊

Below is one of our the first pics we took! I was so much thinner 😩😩 side note: cant wait to lose all this extra depression and then pregnancy weight I’ve put on once baby is here!
