Lalique Encre Noire Pour Homme again, realistically, i think he would rather just steal essential oils that smells so vile it would make his father curl his lip in disdain and make everyone around him be more unnerved by him.

the tray is stolen from an embalmer so he can retain the scent of dead people and use it to marinate his other colognes/oils. he may stick it under his shirt. like a heating pad but it's cold and he smells like someones dead grandpa from the 1800's.

I love fragrances and I love seeing people talk about it in connection with Nigel (and Alex)!

Some of my (unsolicited) thoughts:

I own Halfeti Leather and while I personally love it, I just don't connect it with Nigel. It's very rich and opulent and heavy and warm, and those are not qualities I find evocative of his nature.

Inexcusable Evil has come up in discussions about possible frags for him, but I've never smelled it and can't say much. But the name alone...it writes itself.

From what I've read about Bat and T-Rex, they do seem like a good potential choices for him-extremely weird and polarizing scents like most Zoologist frags.

CdG's Avignon is def also a good possibility. I've considered picking up some of this frag, as I've heard it described as church incense. Another option to consider here is Chapel Factory's Heresy--someone recommended it and I loved the sample I got which was very literally like sitting in a Catholic church.

I'm not really connecting Bibliotheque with him. Despite the name (which means library for anyone out there who isn't familiar with French), it isn't evocative of libraries, books, or anything of the sort. It's sweet fruit, sort of jammy, with some leather. I have no idea why they named it this.

Encre Noir is one I hadn't thought of in connection with him, but could be a good choice. On a similar vibe, perhaps also check out Tom Ford's Black Lacquer.

Other scents I've heard proposed or that I've seen and immediately thought of Nigel:

Imaginary Author: Bull's Blood - described as having an incredibly realistic blood note, though I'm not sure about whether I think the tobacco note works for him.

Oddity: Dead Air - for the weirdness. I've seen it described as "tv static" or "animal nest in an old computer".

Jorum Studio: Fantosmia? I think their Firewater might be an Alex pick ("evocative of being consumed by smoke from a seawater doused burning peat bog on a windy Scottish coast").

Commodity: Book+ - I've been wanting to get my hands on this one, but it's mixed btw those who get dill and those who don't.

idk how this app works so the only way i can figure out to reply is thru blogging so hello and thank you for finding my post abt nigel interesting! love connecting with people thru weird freaks! read through yours - and i have to come up here with a small note (hehe) that i have no absolute clue what any of these bottles actually smell like IRL because they would cost an entire small island here so i relied heavily on what i see on pinterest (and my oh-so-faithful intuition). I do agree that i associate Nigel with very metallic, sharp (maybe a bit?), decaying wood, clay-and-cloudy airy heavy smell you'd pick up inside a cathedral or a cemetery that just stays in your nose. I thought of just doing scents rather than just colognes but i pictured him ALSO maybe owning a few bottles that perhaps his father nagged him into getting? (Nigel's dad being "an important person", appearances matter, as it seems?) so maybe thats where the direction i was going for when i chose these bottles. I still stand by maybe nigel would have preferred the essential oils or the scents in wax that's inside a small rectangular tin if he HAD to choose. and YES i agree i was tempted to choose some bottles bc of their titles and the design itself but....could not find any description OR name. The Bibliotheque one - does it really smell like that??? disappointed but maybe i'll just toss that one into Hermione grangers rack! Tom Ford...I have reluctance with anything Tom Ford because it has appeared in so many other different characters that have no interrelating traits and i smelled it ONCE and it was so cough-inducing i think it fried my senses to see it in a better light. I try to find different unheard of names but also i didn't see much other variety of Tom Ford! thank you for the recommendations! Bull's blood i HAVE to agree. Trust my woo woo senses. maybe some of these could fall in Nigel's cologne tray?

(ignore the fact i added a green board with mathematical lessons chalked on. i couldn't find anything else that suits him because i think he is the most annoying old-school professor on campus that would insist on traditional teaching modes even if the white chalk smudges on his suit. (but then i see him taking off his blazer and rolling his sleeves up to his forearms) he feels more emotion and control in aggressively writing on the board than in sharpie pens. i dont think he particularly cares if it fucks up his leather shoes tho as long as his students UNDERSTAND the material.)

chalk tosser? indirectly. He'd make someone else do it. Especially if the student is sleeping his class. (At the same time I don't think anyone really can...primarily because i think he'd actually be an amazing lecturer and an admirable educator but also REALLY intense instead of sleeping you'd just want to drop the class.)
