I'm sure someone's thought of this before but I don't think Paul only wrote Hey Jude about Julian and about John as John thinks, but also about himself. like "for well you know that it's a fool (Paul is the fool on the hill) who plays it cool but making his world a little colder" which could also be John but? maybe it's both of them, Paul tryna tell himself to open up about his feelings but, well. and ofc "you're waiting for someone to perform with, and don't you know that it's just you"
