I have zero attraction of any kind to men (aesthetic, romantic, sexual), but even I find the "After" image unsettling because it just looks so incredibly unhealthy, especially in comparison.

Another reason might be the fact that women tend to drool over actors who have bodies like that on the right in movies. And when those actors actually hydrate and look healthy, they say they have "dad bods."

Can't blame men for doubting women thinking the former is sexy when so many women drool over the latter.

This is something that I just really don't get. It's so easy to separate out "things women droll over" from "things men constantly claim that women droll over" if you just, you know, listen to women when they talk about their interests and preferences. It doesn't even have to be irl! If you go to wattpad or AO3 or have a gander at the female dominated fan communities on tumblr, or reddit, or discord, or dreamwidth, or honestly almost anywhere, it's very easy to pick this up, even starting from zero.

Who has more fangirls: Juggernaut or Cyclops?

Who has more fangirls: Batman or Nightwing?

These aren't even playing on easy mode, to be clear – they're basically the tutorial level. And even so, a clear pattern is emerging that runs pretty freaking counter to the notion that women mostly drool over the male body-builder ideal of masculine physique.

Also, you do know that "dad bods" are a type of look that women drool over, right? Like you know that most women who use that term are using it to describe a kind of guy who they want to fuck? Right? Like that's part of the connotation of the term, for women? It's basically the distaff counterpart to "MILF"? Because I thought that this was well-known, and I'm legitimately shocked to learn that some people apparently missed the memo.

I'd like to point out how Tumblr flipped its shit for Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc but consistently dislikes Daniel Craig as James Bond.

HE FILMED KNIVES OUT AND GLASS ONION BETWEEN BOND MOVIES.

IT'S ALMOST THE SAME BODY.

The difference? Bond isn't wildly ripped (rather astonishingly, for all the dangerous shit the Bond movies ask of their lead actor, he actually needs to be in good physical shape to do his own stunts, not to show off an eight-pack), but his clothes are tailored in a way that makes him look more built than he is. Benoit Blanc is a lot softer in terms of clothing and mannerisms.

Men refuse to believe they have been LIED TO by media for their entire lives when they were taught (mostly by other men) "what women like". It's like when women are taught they should be as skinny as possible to appeal to men. Except a lot of men disagree actually. A lot of men actually like curves.

Impossible beauty standards make money, no matter who the audience being sold shit is. And there's no relationship between what they tell you you should look like and what is actually attractive to other humans.
