This is some concept art of the protagonist of my project, Greysuits!
Greysuits is a slice of life/mob story set in 1975, which focuses on the lifes and relationships of a group of repressed individuals trying to get by in the broken streets of New York.

!DISCLAIMER! I have not watched Fire: Walk With Me OR Twin Peaks: The Return, so this is purely based on the original two seasons.
Why do we never see the White Lodge?
It's said that you can only access the White Lodge if you are pure of heart. In the show we are told that the government is trying to access it in anyway possible.
When Audrey is at One Eyes Jack's, she prays for Cooper to come and save her. This same transmission comes from the White Lodge.
The Black Lodge is not a place that hosts all the evil people in the world. The Black Lodge (including the 'doppelgängers') is all the evil in the world, and all the bad in the world is a part of it. In the same vein, the White Lodge is the good in the world, and all the good in the world is part of the White Lodge.
Cooper is shown throughout the series as being the epitome of good. He has strong morals, is patient, compassionate, thoughtful, and generous. So, why doesn't he make it through the Black Lodge?
Cooper goes into the Black Lodge to save Annie, he goes willingly and knowingly, (as much knowledge as he could have anyway), of what awaits him.
Cooper has to go through all the evil of the world to save the person he loves most, and within it he finds the evilest version of himself. When he meets it, he turns to run from it, but it catches up to him and becomes him. The Cooper we know and love still exists, but he is lost in the evil of the world.
No matter how pure or good of heart he was, there was still an evil part of him in the world, and because he could not overcome it, it became him.
We never see all the good in the world because no one in Twin Peaks is able to go through all the evil in the world and avoid being consumed by it.
But why did Audrey's prayers get to the White Lodge while she was experiencing some of the evil in the world? Maybe, even if she wasn't pure of heart, it got to the White Lodge because she was able to say that she had done wrong, and that she wanted help. And maybe, that worked for Audrey, and not Laura, because Audrey had someone who wanted to help her.
Before Cooper goes into the Black Lodge, the sheriff tries to come with him, but Cooper refuses his help. Maybe, Dale's belief that he had to go through the Black Lodge alone is what trapped him inside.
