A letter to all the people I've hurt

Hey, we haven't talked in a while, I hope you're doing good. I know it's been a hot minute and I left so abruptly last time we saw each other, I'm sorry about that. I know it's not a proper apology and perhaps it's too late, but I really am sorry I was going through so much at the time I hope you can understand. No, I'm not making an excuse for the pain I've caused you. I know you cared about me and only wanted the best, but I pushed you so far away, so far I didn't see anything but an empty void. I lost myself , I really did, I only pushed you away because I was afraid of dragging you down with me. I spent such a long time alone, drowning, I know you offered your help, your time, your love. Yet I wasn't able to reach it. After such a long time I finally found light in myself , I feel so bright and full of warmth now. I wish you could see how bright I shine now! I wish I could illuminate your life too. I'm so overjoyed with being alive, I finally feel real. I am human after all.

I know this isn't a proper apology , I hope one day we'll meet again and I'll smile and I hope we can become friends again.
