announcement
i’m going to be taking a little hiatus on eliana’s blog. i adore her, but i feel as if there’s very little interest in her so !! i’m going to be focusing on my other, less developed, ocs for the time being. i am not abandoning her blog, but i am going to be taking a break for a couple of weeks. if you want to interact with any of my other blogs, here’s where i’ll be: synthsavior (primarily), electriicsoul, binarymind, tendrcsse, and biteimmune.

With her mother in Vocal Adrenaline rehearsals and her not able to perform just yet with her fractured collar bone, Rachel found herself in the cafe not far from school where her mother would find her after rehearsals, more than likely doing her homework. Sighing, she made her way to the counter and looked up upon being asked as to what she could get “Hi there, can I just grab a tall green tea and one of your fruit salads to dine in please.?” she asked lightly, smiling at her question “New to the area so to speak yes, and new to the school, I went to McKinley High before moving here.”
Eliana made swift work of grabbing one of the boxed fruit salads they kept on display, careful to choose one of the freshest ones she could. She set it on the counter before going to work on her tea. “ McKinley, huh? I’ve heard that school’s a bit. . .rough. ” She gave the brunette a sympathetic glance as she filled a styrofoam cup with boiling water, then plucked a teabag from their wide assortment and began steeping it in the water. She was grateful the girl had requested tea over coffee; it wasn’t often she messed up that sort of order. “ So, that means you’re probably going to Carmel, then. Are you going to join the show choir --- - it’s like the pride and joy of the place. ” She punched a couple of numbers into the register as she placed the green tea on the counter. “ That’ll be seven dollars and eighty-six cents, please. ”
ASHER
“I guess that would be me,” Asher answered with a smile. His old military instincts were fighting for dominance, but losing to his pure awe. He wanted to be proper and formal, but he simply couldn’t get over the view. Still, he finally offered the woman before him a solute. “Cole of the Second Ba… Sorry, that’s not quite right. Asher Cole, I believe… Recruit Asher was what Danse said?”
He looked the woman over in an attempt to weigh the situation. She was certainly not another Rhys. She didn’t seem to be another Danse. She was friendly enough, but she wore years of service on her face, in her eyes. “It’s nice to meet you, Eliana,” he answered evenly, offering a kind smile, though he was still a bit reserved. This Brotherhood of Steel… he wasn’t certain about it yet. “Quite the ship you guys have.”
She grinned, eyes lighting up with amusement. “ Oh, recruit’s probably right, I’m sure. To be entirely honest, I don’t take much notice of rank anymore. --- But it’s nice to meet you, too. ” At his comment about the Prydwen, Eliana had to resist the urge to roll her eyes. She could understand how a newcomer might be enraptured by such a marvel of post-war technology. She, on the other hand, was hardly impressed.
“ I guess you could say that, ” she replied, shrugging. “ I’m a little leery of the idea of hanging around in what might as well be an oversized balloon. This thing’s full of hydrogen, and I don’t want to be on it when something goes wrong. ” She’d always thought the idea of constructing an airship as a base to be a bit silly, especially when they had no real use for it. Their place was in the Capital Wasteland, not rushing about the Commonwealth in search of some illusive faction they wanted to bully out of their technology.
LAURA
“If they have you for that, I’m really not sure why they needed me…” She chuckled before returning to seriousness. “I know the feeling. At least, the noble part…” Laura liked to consider her reasons for joining the military noble, even if they were partially pragmatic as well. “It’s all noble until the ends justify the means and people are treated like cattle, not individuals… I hear the Minutemen are hiring, though.”
“ The Minutemen? I don’t know much about them, in all honesty. From what I’d heard, they were pretty much nonexistent. ” The time she’d spent in the Commonwealth so far had been rather short, and Eliana had barely set foot off the Prydwen since the Brotherhood’s arrival. Getting a chance to interact with the locals hadn’t exactly been at the top of Maxson’s list of things for her to do. In fact, ‘standing around doing nothing’ seemed to be sitting pretty right at the beginning of that list. “ But, hey, if they’re doing good for people around here, I definitely wouldn’t object to working with them. ”

The sound of a camera’s shutter clicking startled Eliana from her homework induced trance. Jumping slightly, her green eyes darted about until they rested on Max. “ You scared me! ” she exclaimed, letting out an embarrassed laugh. “ Did you just take a picture of me? ” She’d heard people complain about the mousy teenager’s nosiness, but Eliana had never really minded being an unconsenting model. Blackwell was driven by the arts, and if that meant she was the target of an artist’s muse when inspiration struck, so be it.

“ Hiya! Can I get you anything? ” Eliana greeted, palms placed face down upon the ordering counter. The brunette girl that stood in front of her was an unfamiliar face swimming amongst the usual teens that stopped by the shop for coffee on their way home from school. There was always a bit of an after school rush, especially as the temperatures began to fall and autumn gave way to winter. The desire for warmth and an extra caffeine boost was tempting to any student looking towards an evening of homework and cramming for tests. “ You know, I don’t think I’ve seen you around before, ” she added. “ Are you new to the area? ”
man, this blog turns 1 year old tomorrow. eliana’s blog is a beautiful bouncing baby
ASHER
“She, ah, lost her son a while back. Gunners. So I guess maybe we could cut her some slack, but… Damn, she’s hateful.”
“ Losing a loved one is difficult, but it’s even more difficult when you let yourself be overtaken by bitterness. It sounds like she needs help, but, based on her attitude, I don’t think she’d accept it. ”
@chyralis ♥ ‘d for a starter!!
“ You’re friends with that new girl, Max, aren’t you? ” Eliana had seen the two of them roaming around Blackwell like two peas in a pod, as if they’d been lifelong friends. It was interesting, really. Max seemed like such a foreign entity that she’d never considered that she might have ties in Arcadia Bay that ran deeper than the few months she’d been enrolled.
“ You two seem really close --- are you going to go to Blackwell, too? ”
@thawedwarrior ♥ ‘d for a starter!!
New recruits weren’t so much of a rarity these days. Brotherhood soldiers were no longer seen as a born and bred type; they could come from anywhere, as long as they were willing to serve. That had made it no less surprising to Eliana to hear Danse talk so. . .fondly of an outsider, a vault dweller at that. That had piqued her interest more than anything. Perhaps her time with the Brotherhood over the past several years had been rocky, at best, but sticking around might not be so terrible if there was someone sensible around. With that in mind, she’d made sure to be one of the first to greet the new recruit upon his arrival to the Prydwen.
“ You’re the guy Danse is so eager about, huh? I’m Eliana -- er -- Knight Tyler, but I definitely prefer the former over the latter. ”
“Sorry about Marcy. Don’t mind her. She can sometimes be… she can be a little bit… She’s a bitch.”
“ I noticed. What, exactly, is her damage? People usually don’t act is if they hate me right off the bat, but she’s a special sort, I suppose? ”

❝ It’s that obvious, huh? ❞
Her voice was a low drawl, no intense amount of emotion in her voice, for that was how Meg typically proceeded. There was just the necessary pained hiss afterward, though, that gave it away, if the fact that she was cradling her arm wasn’t evident enough. She wasn’t the biggest fan of Wasteland creatures, really, she wasn’t. Squinting, she watched over the other woman, noting the light that came from her arm – some sort of device, she was using, some kind of well-sustained tech ——
❝ That’s an awfully shiny Pip-Boy you’ve got there. You must be from somewhere important. ❞
“ Important might be a bit of an overstatement. ”
She let out a short laugh at the suggestion, green eyes glinting with amusement in the dim light. Vault 101 was not special; it was just a different sort of hellhole than the rest of the wasteland. A grin tugging at her lips, she began to dig through the bag at her side, her caps and weapons clinking together noisily as she did so. With a murmur of satisfaction, Eliana managed to pluck out just what she’d been searching for: a stimpack. Crossing the distance left between she and her temporary roommate, she held out the stimpack, carefully balanced in the palm of her hand.
“ Here you go; that should help a little. ”
NORA
“ No, I don’t. “ she says tentatively. For once, it seemed she let her true feelings surface. The worst part, she thought, would be for whomever kidnapped Shaun. There was so much rage she was holding back, so much pain. “ The worst part..is that I don’t even know where to start. Everyone around me seems to be fucking around —- “ it was with no hesitation. PATIENCE. A trait she was once known to have.. but right now, that well was running dry.
Nora’s frustration was palpable, and Eliana could not blame her for it. She didn’t have children, had never been familiar with the bond between mother and child, but she knew what it felt like to have the wasteland rip everything away. “ Listen, I won’t pretend I know how you’re feeling; I don’t. ” And you never will, her thoughts sneered. “ But I’ll do what I can to help you, okay? A child shouldn’t be separated from their parents. Not ever. ”
ARCADE
It honestly was a lot more of a nobler cause than many strove for these days. Then again the latter was understandable as well… sometimes survival within the wasteland and all its dangers, human or otherwise, was simply all that a person was capable of focusing on.
“Absolutely boring. Unfathomably so.” Even his tone sounded chipper enough with that, the quip old and familiar to him by this point. At least his smile reached his eyes this time, amusement genuine. “You get used to it.” Wasn’t that the story of his life anyway? You get used to it. Arcade supposed that it could be way worse than that. “Besides, I don’t always sit here like a piled up lump of barrel cactus fruit. I do help out around here otherwise when Julie needs it - we’re far too short of hands to have someone just be idle weight, especially when things are going on.” Especially during the occasional riots that stirred up in Freeside. “I’ve also been to Westside to help out over there a few times recently.”
A pause before his expression fell into one that was both thoughtful and realistically grim. “The NCR is the lesser of two evils here. While the situation of them taking over is not an ideal one it’s infinitely better than if the Legion managed to seize control of the Mojave.” His arms crossed but he looked comfortable enough, mostly just thoughtful. “Me? I personally wish for the Mojave’s independence.. butttt I’m aware enough that I’m just a part of the significant minority here.”
Besides his own voice didn’t matter in this, did it? Nah.
“Based on what I’ve seen of this place so far, I’m not surprised the Followers need all the hands they can get.” From the moment she’d stepped into Freeside, Eliana had been bombarded by thieves and crooks. Fortunately, most of them were armed with baseball bats and pool cues; she guessed the whole ‘street bandit’ gig didn’t pay enough to buy real weapons. “There’s less of a super mutant problem here, at least. Or so I’ve noticed in my experience so far. Back in D.C, they’re everywhere, no matter how hard people try to wipe them out. Guess the Mojave’s just filled with deadly people, instead.”
Between the NCR, Legion, fiends, and tribals, it was hard to decipher who could be trusted and who couldn’t be. Regardless, Eliana whole-heartedly agreed with his sentiment on the Legion; they could not gain control of the Mojave. That would be catastrophic. “Independence, huh? Sounds better than being enslaved by a bunch of grown men pretending to be a part of the Roman Empire. Or being stuck under militaristic rule for the rest of eternity. There aren’t a whole lot of options here, are there?”
