shield falls, leaving the few remaining agents left to scatter until the dust settles. turns out, HYDRA went deeper than any of them thought possible. after being separated from coulson and may, the four decide to stick together. trekking across the country, grant gives them a crash course on becoming a field agent - making these four HYDRA’s most formidable threat. fortunately, skye’s erased their identities and with a blank slate, they can be whoever, wherever, and whatever they want to be. globe-trotting hijinks and lots of cuddling ensue.

As a reader, I always love the hiatus and the prompts, and while nothing seems to come to me to contribute, please know that all your work and all the work of the writers and creators are much appreciated.

#2016WSSummer Event Completion

Yes, we’ve come to the end. Most of the mods have already expressed their love and gratitude to not only the event but also all those remotely involved over the years here.

To say the least, these biospecialist hiatus events would never have come to fruition without all you participants over the years. Whether it was a one time submission or enduring activity and promotion from you, we mods thank you so much for joining us to make these events as great as they have been.

As alluded to before, the completion of #2016WSSummer also marks the end of our hiatus events for the foreseeable future. The blog and all posts will remain in tact, so when the need strikes, feel free to go back to past events and enjoy all the wonderful work that has come our way.

Fear not, I’m sure our little ship will survive on in other forms thanks to all you talented and lovely people out there still pushing on. As for us, well, never say never, right? But for now, it is the end.

A Modly Message on Fanfiction Writers Appreciation Day

Hey Everyone,

So as you know, today marks the final day of #WSSummer, and the formal end of hiatus events in this community for the foreseeable future.

As the longest running moderator, (Mod A1 is an originator of the blog/event community) I’ve seen so many brilliant contributions from frequent writers, one time participants, and occasional dippers of toes in the waters of Hiatus Events.

I am so profoundly grateful for each and every one of you; this community couldn’t have grown and been enriched without the time and care taken with each piece.

Thank you for making this small enclave one I am proud of, and happy to have been important to in one way or another.

The span of the project, the word count, the chapters, or even the sentences per paragraph; none of that matters because you’ve chosen to put forth something you wanted to share with likeminded fans, and that makes you incredible.

So thank you, you are so very appreciated each and every day,

I was first approached to co-mod with Amanda in this community last year during the summer hiatus and I had every intention of contributing more to this community at the time. But, as it did again this year, life got in the way and I was pulled away from the community as well as the fandom as a whole. 

Yet of the time that I was there, I have to say, what an honor it has been to work along side someone as dedicated and passionate as Amanda! She has such zeal and charisma I couldn’t help but be galvanized! 

On top of having such a great leader, I was constantly astounded by the quality (and at times the quantity) of the entries and submissions! Like… wow! I’ve said it in the past but it truly bares repeating: we are so blessed in this community because I can hands down say that we have some of the best - if not the best - writers in the entire fandom! And to have been apart of an event that cultivated, inspired, and brought together some of these iconic works in our little, tiny corner of the AoS fandom, I’m just floored. It’s truly been an honor and my only regret is that I didn’t contribute more. 

Thank you Amanda and our newest MOD @streetlightsky (you did a stupendous job!) AND thank you to the community for this amazing experience once again!

When a former classmate goes on sabbatical and suggests Jemma get back on her emotional feet by stepping into Bobbi’s job and home for a year, Jemma jumps at the chance. She’s a little lonely, but the couple next door seems to have made it their mission to check in on her and draw her out of her shell. If only she didn’t find the both of them so incredibly attractive…

#WSSummer Prompt: OT3/Polyamory

Driven by sheer spite, and tired of being someone else’s dog, Grant Ward cheats his way back into Jemma Simmons’ life by way of an illicit rescue mission. He’s taking his power back, and scorching the earth as he walks away from HYDRA and their “New World Order”, he’ll get the universe to align just for him.

A fresh start with a good man, a life away from the boundaries imposed by a house built on shifting sand, the chance to go out, see the world and do good; Jemma Simmons wants all of these things, and gets more than she bargained for when Grant Ward is the one staring back at her from the other side of the portal to Maveth. 

Re-learning the world, and his place in it are the only goals Will Daniels has, because with Jemma next to him he can do anything. Given the chance to take down the organization that banished him to a desolate hellscape lightyears, and decades from home, he’ll take it and face the monsters head on.

Then I remembered I had something else nearly done that fit the theme as well. Event Note From Mods

Upon discussion, if new participants, and submission of pieces continue to dwindle the event WILL be ended early, and further hiatus events will be cancelled.

This is a hard event to run, and takes an emotional toll with very little return on the investment. We love this community, and we love this ship even when it's hard to justify. So let's try to pick up the pace a little.

“Thanks again.” There’s a bit of a strain in his voice as his muscles relax after hours of walking along the side of the road. “I’m Grant, by the way.”

“Jemma,” she says, again in that adorable little accent. 

“Where you headed, Jemma?” Where she picked him up isn’t anywhere at all, just the same barren strip of road he’s been on all day.

“Home,” she says easily, not the least bit worried she just told the complete stranger she found on the side of the road she’s going to her house. She didn’t seem all that worried about letting him in her car either. She’s way too trusting, but it works to his benefit so he can’t exactly fault her.
