as soon as kyra’s arms folded and her friend was giving her the look, mya’s shoulders dropped and she let the facade shatter to the floor. “okay, okay.” she answered. “you got me. i’ve been helping him the whole time. i mean, you know he can’t pick out a pair of socks properly for himself, much less a gift for you.” she teased just a little, mostly trying to lighten the mood. “does he know you peeked at his texts?”

Kyra had to admit that she should have known somebody was helping her boyfriend. Mya was right, and Kyra felt stupid for not picking up on it sooner. Maybe she had been in denial. She didn't want to admit that her relationship wasn't as perfect as they made it seem. She did nothing but brag about her boyfriend, and nobody wanted to admit they were wrong. "I should have known. I guess he doesn't known me as well as I thought." Kyra thought she would be upset, but oddly she didn't care. A part of her liked the thought of her friend picking out gifts for her. "Of course he doesn't. He would be so mad if he found out. I honestly don't know why I looked through it. But the phone was right there and I just grabbed it. I guess subconsciously I knew something was up. Or maybe I was just hoping to find a reason to end things."

" oh cmon ... i could use this for an oscar nomination." the woman continued to tease. she was hoping that making jokes would ease the nervousness that was going on between them. this was going to be hard. be like we normally were. she would be lying if she said she was excited. it was going to hurt , but she took a breath. that's all she had to do this whole time : take a breath. she moved towards her own suitcase where she took out an outfit for the night. " ill try my best to make the shower quick." only the universe knew how long it took harmony to get ready. with that said, the woman took no time to take a shower and get ready. when she had stepped out , she was her glamorous self. if there was one thing she loved doing, it was getting to dress up. " should've made a bet with you that i could get ready in less than an hour."

"I'll be sure to put you forward for best actress in a drama," Devon teased back. Drama felt fitting, especially with how her family would react once they found out. It was obvious there was unspoken tension between them, Devon was certain that Harmony could also feel it. The awkwardness was new for them. Harmony was the one person that Devon could fully relax around, to be herself without having to worry about any judgement. Now, the other felt like nothing more than an acquaintance. A distant memory that Devon had forgot how to navigate. "Sure," Devon climbed onto the bed as she got herself comfortable. "I'll just take a nap while I wait." Harmony's lack of getting ready quickly had caused a few arguments in the past. Strangely Devon missed the fights, whether they were petty or more serious. Maybe it was just the thought of being with Harmony that caused her to miss it. When the other finally exited the bathroom, Devon sat up, flashing an amused grin at her. "Wow, now that is a work record. You definitely could have made a lot of money there." Devon got up, unable to keep her eyes off of her ex as they walked passed one another. "I promise I will try and be quick also." Unlike Harmony, Devon was known for taking merely minutes to get ready. Her style was a little more minimal that took very little effort.

Her gaze watched the gun as it was disposed of, nodding her head slightly in acknowledgement of the action. "Ok... I'll- I'll do what I can for you. Can you tell me what happened? That's the only question I'll ask, I just... I need to know what I'm dealing with." Carefully, keeping her hands in clear sight, Maria moved to get some disposable gloves from where they were stored in the back of the ambulance.

"Thank you," Cate spoke with a wince as a sharp pain ran through her side from the sudden movement as she stepped forward. "I was stabbed," it was brief but it was all she needed to know. Cate wasn't about to go into detail with who she was or how it happened. Her line of work was ... complicated. The last thing she needed was this woman refusing to help. "Like I said I just need to stop the bleeding and I'll be fine." She walked into the ambulance, taking a seat on the bed with slow and careful movements.

it was hard for words to form knowing everything soraya was true. she didn't have to stay and entertain her ex, that was a stupid choice evelyn decided to go with. now there could only be regret. she didn't want to hurt her best friend, hell, if anything evelyn wished they could be more than that. finally there was the question. evelyn cleared her throat and spoke the truth, "i didn't sleep with her, i promise." tucking a piece of hair behind her ear, she let her own fall into her pant's pocket next. "we kissed," the confession sat deep in her stomach. she felt like a complete asshole for telling soraya. her voice shook as she tried to plead her case, "trust me, the second it happened i pulled away from her. drinks were involved and i didn't kiss her because of her. it was just a kiss, it didn't mean anything and i didn't want it to go any further. i wouldn't have let that happen." guilt was consuming even more now. being there in person and seeing soraya's expressions felt like a knife to her chest. she couldn't believe she had it in her to hurt her best friend. "i am so fucking sorry. i lost my fucking mind - i swear, i'll never have contact with that woman again." shrugging her shoulders she didn't know if soraya could forgive her for the mess she created, she could only hope she would. "i cherish you soraya, you know this. i regret it and i knew i had to show up unannounced because i was losing my mind without you." not shying away from taking a small step forward, evelyn asked, "if you want to stay mad at me, i can respect your boundaries - just don't let our friendship end because of this...please?"

As soon as the question had come out, Soraya was desperate to take it back. She wasn't sure if she was ready for the answer. Maybe she just wanted to live in denial. But this was no longer about her best friend and ex together. Soraya was certain she would react the same way if it had been anyone other than herself. The more time that went on, the hardest she was finding it to keep up the poker face. The false façade of happiness when it came to Evelyn's love life. She was falling in love more and more with the other woman with every ticking second and Soraya didn't know how to navigate it. She had come close to confessing on multiple occasions. But her fear of losing Evelyn had held her back. At first, she'd rather had Evelyn has a friend than to not have her in her life. But now Soraya wasn't sure if this was healthy. Her shoulder's relaxed a little as Evelyn admitted it had been nothing more than a kiss. While it was still enough to spark a dagger a jealousy through her, at least it wasn't anything serious. Soraya stayed quiet, eyes wide as she simply listened to the apology that Evelyn gave. She believed her friend. Soraya knew that it wasn't anything more than a drunken mistake. She knew Evelyn wouldn't ever intentionally hurt her and yet she still just stayed silent. Evelyn took a step forward as Soraya stood her ground, still staring at the other as her mind scrambled for something, anything to say. Soraya wasn't sure what came over her as she moved forward unexpectedly. Her brain had shut down, as her heart took over her actions. She didn't stop until her body was centimetres away from Evelyn's. Their lips touching in a kiss that neither of them saw coming.

"so this is just a consultation, since it's a custom and all," edith swivels back around in her chair, now brandishing a pen in her hand. she flashes a grin at them, and with a free hand, tucks a wild strand away from her eyes. "i just wanted to get an idea of what you're looking for-- what it looks like, the sizing, where do you want it." everybody's process differs; edith likes to pick apart a tattoo, picture the parts before the whole and solve it like a puzzle. with a slight lean to the left, she produces a sketchpad. "and then we'll get into the gritty details, alright? tell me, what's your dream tattoo?"

Talia had never really expressed any desires to get a tattoo before. While she always admired the art form, she just couldn't ever commit to something she wanted that badly. She hated the idea of regretting something that would be permanent. Or at least more expensive and painful to remove. The thought of the needles didn't exactly help either, no matter how tiny they were. But, despite all of that, Talia found herself at a tattoo shop. Finally ready to get a design that had been playing on her mind. She sweetly with a flash of nerves across her eyes, arms idly resting in her lap as she looked at the other. "I know it's not exactly original, but I was wanting maybe a flower? A dahlia. It was my mom's favourite flower. I still haven't decided where I want it. How much it hurts will probably decide that."

"I'm not saying that I don't want to marry him." That was exactly what Ana was saying, but admitting she had made a mistake didn't come easy. "I'm just saying, what if we're not compatible? What if years down the line I realise we aren't soulmates? Marriage is a big fucking deal and I don't want to regret it." Ana had been with Jake for years. They had quickly become the it couple of the music industry and the wedding was predicted to be a huge event. But after the unspoken events at her bachelorette just days prior, Ana was starting to second guess everything.

" you know im not an actress , right ? i took an acting class or two in high school. but i will try my best." the tone in her voice was a teasing one. harmony wasn't sure how she was gonna keep her composure during this whole trip. but maybe it could be easily belivable as she still had strong feelings for devon. she could deal with the heartbreak later after this was all over and were back to reality. " if it becomes too weird for me , i'll let you know. i want you to do the same too. i know this isn't easy for the both of us to put on a front like this."

"I'm not asking for an Oscar winning performance." Devon moved back towards her bag, undoing the zip before reaching in at random. "Just be yourself. Be like we normally were." Using past tense for their relationship still felt raw. It was taking a lot of concentration to not mess up the tenses. "If we over do it then it will be obvious that something is wrong." Devon was worried they both might start to over compensate for a relationship that no longer exists. "I'll be fine," Devon brushed off as she pulled out a pile of clothes, placing them down on top of the dresser. One thing Devon was never good at was talking about her feelings and emotions. Nothing had changed. "We've only got an hour until we have to meet my family dinner, do you want the shower first?"

"well, he made a good choice then," she remarked, having assumed the facade of it actually being her picking out the jewelry and the other gifts was still unknown— so when kyra came right out of the gate with it, she just blinked for a second before nodding. "what makes you think it's me? you said he got you that, didn't he?" she cleared her throat slightly, even though kyra's smile helped ease things.

"Mya.." Kyra tilted her head to the left slightly, arms folding across her chest. She found it admirable that even now, Mya was doing all she could to keep her boyfriend's secret. It was obvious that she just wanted her best friend to be happy. "Don't judge me but, I looked through his phone." It hadn't been Kyra's proudest moment. But when the opportunity arose, she found herself entering his pin before she realised what she was doing. Kyra was far from insecure. But her actions had already made her start to question the relationship. "I saw the text where he thanked you for helping. Have you helped every time?"

There was a pause as she let her gaze drop to the gun for a second, before back to the other woman. "I mean... That isn't giving me a lot of confidence..." she replied, her hands still raised as she spotted the blood on the stranger's shirt. There was a lot, a concerning amount in fact, and her gut was telling me that despite the hospital being the best place for her, this woman would likely not want to go there. "I- We don't have a lot in here." The ambulance was always meant to be ready to temporarily assist until emergency could take over. "But I'll do what I can."

Cate glanced down at the gun that was tightly gripped in her hand. Without hesitation she put it down on the floor, kicking it out of reach. She got the sense that the woman wasn't a threat, and if she turned out to be than Cate had many other weapons concealed. "I just need you to stop the bleeding, no questions asked, no hospital and no records. Just be quick and I'll be gone." Cate wasn't planning on hanging around any longer than she needed to. If her plan had gone the way it was supposed to then she would be out of the state by now.

maybe she had been naive thinking she could balance a life and building her career. or maybe she had just put too much focus on her relationship with ken instead of putting that effort into maintaining her friendships. a part of her had thought that she needed to find her great love before her music blew up on the charts (if that ever happened at all) so that way she would know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the relationship was real. and for a while ⏤ despite what her friends said ⏤ jules had really thought ken was that love. she had been so very wrong about that and had found out in the worst possible way. jules stepped inside with a quiet thanks, setting her bag down. "i could eat, yeah," she smiles, nods. in reality, she doesn't have much of an appetite ⏤ but she hasn't eaten yet today and knows she should eat something. "thank you for doing this," she adds after a moment, "i just... need a little time to figure things out."

Ari closed the door behind Jules, making sure to lock it out of habit. They might be paranoid, but living alone definitely made you rethink safety within your own home. They lead Jules deeper into the house. Out of the small entry way and into the main living area. They still hadn't found anything to watch, the TV had gone idle as it waited to be woken up. "What are friends for?" Ari offered a gentle smile. No matter what happened between them, Ari knew that Jules would do the exact same thing for them. Not to mention Ari wouldn't ever forgive themself if something happened. "Make yourself comfortable, feel free to find something that's actually worth watching." They pointed towards the TV with an amused huff, although Ari figured they wouldn't really be paying attention. They disappeared into the kitchen, grabbing a couple of plates and more cutlery. With two bottles of water under their arm, Ari returned only minutes later. They set everything out on the coffee table, allowing Jules to pick and choose out of the many dishes they were willing to share. "So what happened?" Ari questioned once they were both settled on the couch.

"well you're not just someone...you're my best friend soraya." someone evelyn had grown accustomed to being around and talking to every day, where a few days of silence just felt wrong. “i’m sorry. i didn’t think it would be as big of a deal as it is - you know it’s not like the two of us planned a meeting…she just happened to be in the same place.” evelyn pleaded with sincerity behind her eyes before she noticed soraya welcoming her inside. without hesitation she walked into her home and turned to face the woman. as soon as the door shut evelyn shrugged her shoulders, “it was just me being cordial. thinking about it now i know i’m a complete idiot for even giving her my time of day, but i would have never done that if i knew the reaction it’d cause.” taking a small step towards her best friend, she tilted her head slightly and asked, “can you please forgive me? i can’t function with you. you know this.”

"Yeah, I thought so as well," Soraya knew she was being stubborn and unreasonable. That she was making a mountain out of a mole hill, but she couldn't help it. She was hurt and the whole situation had been playing on her mind more than Soraya wished to admit. Insecurities began to plague her thoughts. What did Andrea have that she didn't? Would she have to witness the woman she loved fall for someone else? Soraya knew that if she didn't make a move than eventually it would happen. But she didn't think there was a possibility it could be her ex. "It doesn't matter if it was planned or not, you still made the choice to stay, knowing how I would feel about it." Soraya kept a poker face, standing unnaturally straight as her body tensed. She watched as Evelyn pleaded with her. The look in the other's eyes pulled at her heart, Soraya was a real sucker when it came to her friend. She wanted to forgive her. They both knew Soraya could never stay mad at Evelyn for long. But, there was one thing she needed to know, even if her heart was screaming at her not to ask. "Did you sleep with her?"

seeing the diamond choker she'd helped their idiot boyfriend pick out just last week clinging tightly around their neck, mya smiled at her friend. it looked better on them than she could've ever imagined, and now here they were talking, "that choker looks amazing on you," she offered, "really highlights you." still, mya couldn't help the feeling of jealousy, almost. she'd wished she was the one giving it to them, putting it on them and watching them light up every room they walked into with her jewelry choices, since their boyfriend clearly knew nothing about elegance.

"Thank you!" Kyra beamed as she lightly caressed the choker around her neck. "Liam just bought it for me," her boyfriend often got her gifts for no reason. At first Kyra saw it as an act of affection. How many women could say their boyfriends showered them with gifts off their own backs? But, as the relationship aged, Kyra began to realise it was simply a way to keep her sweet. "The next time he asks you to pick something out, make sure you choose a matching pair of earrings." While Kyra called her friend out, it had been paired with a smile, showing there was no hard feelings over the news.

"You know, when someone is ignoring your calls and texts that typically means they don't want to see you in person either." Soraya was trying her best to come across as unbothered, but the emotions wouldn't hold back forever. This had been just one of the many reasons why she was avoiding Evelyn. In fear of how her feelings would betray her. "You don't get to decide whether my silence is enough or not." Soraya gripped the edge of the door. She desperately wanted to close it, but her body froze. Yet again it was listening to her heart, rather than her head. "If you didn't want to hurt me then you wouldn't have been with Andrea. You know what she put me through." Truth be told, this wasn't about her ex, but rather the jealousy Soraya was feeling. A couple walking their dog caught her eye and Soraya immediately opened the door wider, inviting Evelyn inside. The last thing she needed was her neighbours watching.

"Ay dios mío, we're getting nothing done anymore." It had started with them plotting to get some harmless revenge on the man they were both dating at the same time. But somehow, after sharing two bottles of wine, they completely got away from themselves and now, they couldn't stop giggling over absolutely anything and everything — mostly roasting at the expense of Jackson. "Actually, I don't think I really care that much anymore. Tell me, what was the most embarrassing thing he'd done while you were dating him? Nothing is off limits."

"That's your fault, I'm actually trying here," that was far from the truth, and by the way she burst out laughing it was clear Imai knew it. "Honestly? I think just the sight of us together would be enough to send him into a fit." The plans they had previously put together were elaborate. But in reality, just one photo could do exactly what they hoped to achieve. Imai picked up her glass, downing the rest of her wine as she thought about Camila's question. Short bursts of giggles escaped from her as she relived memories one by one, trying to pick just one. "You mean aside from his inability to get women to finish?" Another giggle came from Imai, who typically was known as a more PG popstar in the industry. "He's used to get so upset with me whenever I was stopped by fans. I mean full silent treatment and he would just walk faster so I couldn't keep up. I don't know if he was mad that they didn't know who he was or that I was giving other people attention. But it was always such a childish response. What about you?"

Maria held her hands up in the air, keeping her palms open and her movements minimal as she stared at them. "Just.... If it's drugs you're after, we don't have much in here. But take what you need, just don't-" Don't hurt me.

"Do I look like I'm here to hurt anyone?" Cate spoke up in annoyance, gripping her right side. Her clothes were covered in blood, obviously hers as she tried to keep the bleeding under control. Of course the gun in her left hand didn't help the situation. But in her line of work, Cate had learned to trust no one. She had been sloppy, let her guard down for just a second which resulted in the stab wound. "I just need help."

"oh, i - sorry," the initial reaction has jules' face falling even more than it already was, adjusting the strap of her bag on her shoulder. she should have known that this was a bad idea, to just show up like this. it would have been better to just find somewhere quiet to park and try to get a few hours of sleep, try to figure it all out in the morning. "yeah, um, sorry about that," jules tries to smile, stumbles over her words. and now there's another string of guilt threading through her. she always thought she would have more time for the people in her life once she started pursuing this dream. maybe she had been naive. "it's just been... really busy." jules is quiet for another moment, shifting her weight between her feet. "i don't... really know how else to say it... ken dumped me and kicked me out," tears are pricking at the corners of her eyes but she fights to keep them under control, doesn't want to make ari feel bad because she's crying, "i didn't know where else to go."

"Of course," Ari knew they didn't have a right to be mad at Jules. She was living her dream. Doing the exact thing she had been born to do, and there was no denying that Ari was extremely proud of the blonde. But there was a selfish part of them that felt pushed aside. Forgotten for a new world that they weren't a part of. So seeing Jules stood at their door was both a relief and a heartache. Ari let out a sigh at the real reason why Jules was here. Ari had warned her many times before about the guy. Knowing he was most likely using her for the fame and attention. Now, Ari figured he took as much as he could get from Jules. No longer finding a use for her. However, this wasn't the time or place for I told you so, or go and bother someone else. No matter what happened between them, Ari couldn't just turn Jules away, not when she was clearly hitting a low in her life. Ari stepped aside, opening the door a little wider as an invitation. "Come in. Have you eaten? I just ordered Thai food, there's enough to share."
