People who say Francesca can't be bisexual and in love with John because they don't have sexual passion? Excuse me? Are there still people in 2026 who think romantic love is linked to sex? So asexual people never fall in love with this stupid logic? For me, Francesca was definitely in love with John, just without the sexual aspect. And that doesn't make her love for him unromantic. It's just that she doesn't have sexual attraction towards guys, only emotional attraction. Whereas with girls, she has both. Until they clearly state in the show that Francesca is a lesbian, that will remain my interpretation.

It's amazing to watch the same people that say "Why can't people just be friends? Friendship is just as important as romantic love!" whenever there is a queer ship suddenly flip their script and start complaining about Francesca and John possibly having a platonic relationship in the show... Like my bad I thought we were rooting for more platonic relationship representation.

Fran is immediately drawn to Michaela when they meet at the end of season 3. I don’t think she has a name for what she feels but it’s attraction in the very literal sense of the word

Fran loves John and she always will. They’re kindred spirits. He makes her feel seen. She trusts him, respects him, cares for him, and wants to be with him.

The show hasn’t given us enough information on Fran’s interiority to know her sexuality. Maybe we’ll find out in her season, maybe not. Personally it doesn’t change anything about 1 or 2 for me.

bridgerton is yet another example of how lesbian attraction is just not on many people's radar at all. several people have said to me that francesca would surely find another husband or otherwise her story must be finished now. the fact that she started stuttering when meeting a beautiful woman, is clearly somewhat drawn to her and establishing a close bond with her (something the show put a spotlight on!) simply doesn't register. francesca had a husband whom she smiled at, so that must be the end of it
