You deserve love that is equal. Where you receive as much love as you give. If someone isnât willing to work towards that kind of love then itâs okay to leave them.

Your social justice should be founded on love for others, not on a desire to be the most visibly enlightened.
Iâm free to be the greatest, Iâm alive
Sia - The Greatest
In my class we have a worm day. If they promise to be gentle and not tug, they can hold one of those beautiful squiggly caretakers of dirt. The wonder they have for it is so real - and I say, did you know they have 5 hearts and love you with all of them. Then I say, âare you holding a boy worm or a girl wormâ and they guess. They are all right, and they are all wrong, because worms are both. And I say that. I say, âthey are just like people; sometimes not a boy or a girl but something in between, or sometimes theyâre both on different days. And they still love you with all 5 hearts.â
âCool,â says one kid. âI donât want to be a boy, I want to be a girl sometimes.â And I say okay.
Children are taught fear. They are taught that the worms are gross. It isnât until theyâre a few years older than my class - up in 3rd or 4th grade - that they start shrieking at my little worm friends. They wonât play the silly games or sing the silly songs or even promise not to tug. A fourth grader hears my lesson about gender and says, âThatâs so weird,â and suddenly I hear from the mouths of these beautiful children, âYeah,â âthis is weird,â âNo, mine is a girl.â
It is not the 4th grader I blame. It is the person in her life that saw something beautiful and ruined it for her. It is the âput that down, itâs gross,â âyou donât want to get dirtyâ âthereâs us and thereâs them.â I want to show her - without the humble little blind noses of worms, we are nothing. We need them. Did you know if they grow a belt theyâre over a year old! Spent tunnelling through the secrets of roots. I want to show her: itâs okay if tomorrow you feel like a boy or maybe something neither, something different that is entirely you.
But fear, once discovered, is not an easy stain to get out. We say, âWhat will we tell the childrenâ and forget - the children already heard. They heard you snickering about the person down the street. They saw you talking to your friend about âthose peopleâ. And they internalize it, burrow it into them. We donât tell the children, we model hatred until the children canât hear you, canât hear you declare, âdo as I say, not as I do.â
Later the 4th grader goes home. âUgh,â her mother says with a shudder, seeing my box, âI hate worms.â
For when you want to move your body, but your brain won't let you.
Oh hey look, something that ISNâT TOTAL FUCKING BULLSHIT :D
⊠Step 1. Realize that you should exercise. Step 2 ? Step 3. HEALTH!
When youâre depressed, that question mark can be a barely navigable labyrinth of garbage fires fueled by physical and mental exhaustion, self-loathing, defeat, and frustration. The last time I found myself trying to hack through that mess during a particularly dark period, I started to come up with my own list of bare-bones, practical tips to help me face the idea of moving again. Now Iâm sharing them, in case they might help someone else in a similar position. I stress the word âmight.â If youâre depressed, the last thing you need is another a-hole telling you what you should do. But if youâre looking for somewhere to start, Iâve been there too.
First heading? âYou donât have to exercise.â I love this entire piece. Itâs going on facebook, thatâs how much I love it. A+
âThe perfect body is a breathing one. Anything that serves those ends is worth considering. Everything else is noise.â
I will be damned if this is not hands down, the best thing Iâve ever read about exercising with depression. Itâs real, itâs honest, and absolutely worth the read.

I realize nobody asked me but I really hate that video where that guy is yelling at âElizabethâ about literally everything she does on the way to, during, and after a party. Like why are you SO angry!! Leave her alone! Sheâs not asking you to comment on literally everything she does and physically grab her by the skirt, sheâs having fun and youâre being critical and weirdly possessive and exasperated, and why, because her shoes lace up and she jumped into a ball pit? Even if sheâs making âbad decisions,â if I knew someone who acted like the narrator I would get them the fuck out of my life as soon as possible.
Thereâs so much i would say, but i wonât let my rage get the best of me. Hate will not win. Respect our lives. We will keep fighting.Â
ALL LIVES MATTER OKAY
When people say âblack lives matterâ, they mean âblack lives matter just as much as other livesâ, not that ONLY black lives matter. What youâre saying is just like saying âTHERE ARE OTHER DISEASES OKAYâ at a cancer walk. Get the fuck over yourself. Black lives matter.
gay people are, whether theyâre out or not, super brave and deserve all the love and happiness in the world
If Black Lives Matter Isnât A Racist Hate Group, Then Can Someone Please Explain To Me Why I Keep Insisting They Are?
Ever since Black Lives Matter formed in 2013, its leaders have repeatedly tried to brand it as a peaceful organization. It purports to advocate equal treatment for African Americans, and to pursue this goal by nonviolent means. Well, Iâm not so sure, and the reason is simple: if Black Lives Matter is anything but a racist hate group, then someone needs to explain why I keep insisting they are.
Iâm sorry if this question offends people, but if this so-called âmovementâ isnât an angry, dangerous mob, then why do I keep saying it is? Read more
hi I really hate to do this but to keep things short my mom kicked me out of the house and my dad went back on his word to take me in so now I have literally no where to go (or live). Iâm a 19 year old gay latinx struggling with anxiety & depression (recently diagnosed and still adjusting to the medication) and I was in the process of getting my life back together and now I feel like Iâm back at step one. if you can donate anything at all or even just share this post id greatly appreciate it!!

Is this dog okay
I reblog this at least once a week because I connect with this dog on an emotional level
If youâre outraged by the end of OITNB, let me recommend some charities for you...
Just Detention International, a non-profit fighting to end prison rape, provide resources to survivors, and improve human rights conditions in American prisons and globally.
Sylvia Rivera Law Project, a New York-based collective that provides resources and legal advocacy to transgender, gender non-conforming and intersex people of color or of low income. SRLP has been fighting to end the abusive use of âprotectiveâ administrative segregation of transgender prisoners - the practice Sophia Bursett was a victim of in the show.
JusticeNow, a California-based non-profit which fights for the rights of female prisoners in California to receive adequate medical care. Recently, JusticeNow was key to the outlawing of forcibly sterilizing female prisoners in California.
Transgender, Gender Non-Confirming & Intersex Justice Project provides resources in California to LGBTQ people in poverty, including providing transitional housing for incarcerated people reentering society.
Prison Law Office, a law firm in California that fights against inhumane conditions of confinement. PLO was key in the lawsuit against California keeping their prisons at 200% population capacity â overcrowding similar to and worse than what we saw in S4 of OITNB.
Black & Pink, an organization that provides pen pals to LGBTQ+ prisoners. Pen palling is a low-cost way to support prisoners who may not have LGBTQ+ supportive people in their lives, or who have limited access to safe conversation.
Iâve linked to the donation pages for these organizations, but there are many ways to get involved that donât require spending money. Donât just get mad â get motivated. These are real lives weâre talking about.
I want to be the house that my childrenâs friends want to come to, because despite whatever theyâre facing at home, theyâll know theyâll find a second family with me and mine.
This is a beautiful goal.
