I'm rewatching the Dressrosa arc (again!) and a theory just hit me.
Law is so obsessed with making sure his plans are followed exactly because when Cora told him his plan, he ended up not following it—he broke it to protect Law.
Cora said everything would be fine, that they'd both make it out... but it didn't happen.
That's why he clings to control—because not sticking to the plan once cost him everything.
Law isn't obsessed with perfection—he’s terrified of losing someone again.
Since then, Law holds onto his plans so tightly—not because he needs control, but because he’s scared.
Scared that if someone strays from the plan, they'll end up like Cora.
And he can’t go through that again.
