Yes, Again. I’m sorry, it’s just really really hard to find opportunities to write for Doggie. I might try again someday... But most likely not until a big while.

Maybe someday when the Sentai fandom is more active.

The shot is fired and Fourze looks down for a moment. In the span between the launch and the arrival, his armor shifts to Elek States. An arc of lightning meets the arrow, knocking it aside into the wall.

“I figured as much. Even with energy arrows, you still need a full draw, and you just don’t have the space in here.” he points at the impostor. “And the real Sagittarius would have known that. You might have his appearance and his power, but you lack his knowledge!”

Having said his piece, Fourze activates the Smoke Module, filling up the area with an obscuring cloud. His suit will allow him to see through it. But he’s not the one who will take advantage of it. No, it will take swordsman with the trained senses of an Anubian.

He gestures to Dekamaster to move ahead of him and take a swing at the fake. Together, they will take him down and save the hostages.

The enemy was visibly surprised that Fourze managed to negate their attack. They had a vague motion of recoil as they pulled their mantle in front of them to at least partially block the Gatling Gun’s projectiles. This didn’t work very well, but they still tried to go for another assault.

This time, they had summoned some weapon akin to a scythe - nothing the original Saggitarius had, probably - and began cutting through the fog with it. Unexpectedly, in only a few slashes, they managed to dissipate the smoke completely... only to see Fourze and DekaMaster had hopped on top of one of the abandoned trains.

“D-Sword Vega!”

The Sentai Ranger jumped off, rising his sword as he charged it in energy. He landed in front of the enemy and slashed it a first time in their direction. They used their weapon to block the assault... but the sword cut right through it, making the enemy’s only defense powerless.

“Vega Strike!”

DekaMaster charged forward, shoulder first, toward the enemy. He hit the enemy in their stomach with all of his might with the crosguard of his sword. Their foe was silent as they were flung a few meters away, and crashed onto the array of rusty rails at their feet.

Something fell out of their mantle as they painfully rose up: Their Switch! But the Commander didn’t pay attention to it, however. Right now, he had to admit knowing where Umeko was taken was more important to him. He took a deep breath and walked toward the defeated foe.

"I can’t ask for a Judgement until you’ve been identified. The smartest thing you could do now is cooperate."

“Eheh... Eheheheh... Now you’re just asking too much...”

The fake Saggitarius rose up. Their disguise finally melted away, revealing their identity. They appeared to be a human man as far as Doggie could tell. He pulled a second switch out of his cloak. One bearing the symbol of Virgo.

“I’m sorry, Officer, Kamen Rider Fourze, I’m afraid we’ll have to finish this another day. I need to find the real Gemini now.”

 A few moments pass between Doggie getting hit and Gentaro bringing up the Shield module. That attack shouldn’t be possible. Sagittarius is gone. Gamou is dead. Which means…

“Show yourself, imposter!” He braces in the hallway, wanting to protect himself and the downed Dekamaster from any further assault.

There’s a sound from further down the hall, like chains scraping against the concrete, followed by a loud hollow laugh. Gentaro is thankful that the voice is nothing like the one he’s heard before. This confirms that his foe is not the real Gamou.

Though the voice is not his, the body certainly is. A full Supernova form Sagittarius.

The only benefit Gentaro has is the tight quarters. From here, he could use the Gatling Module and keep his foe at bay. But a Supernova Horoscopes is a dangerous foe in any situation. And there’s not enough space down here to transform to Cosmic.

“What do you want?” Gentaro asks.

With a grunt, DekaMaster managed to remove the projectile in his shoulder. More arrows were shot his way, though this time they were negated by the Rider’s modules. The Sentai Ranger rose up slowly, using his sword to steady himself. The enemy stopped walking when they noticed the Gatling gun aimed at him. Seeing how they were at a brief stalemate, they chuckled and decided to indulge the white hero with a response to his question.

“Imposter, you say? My... Just because I am not the same chosen one of Sagittarius as the one you knew doesn’t mean my power is illegitimate in any way. This is very much the real deal.”

They pulled out their switch from their cloak.

"Now, now, it’s all as simple as that of the fool who used to possess this power. I intend to bring forth The Day of Awakening... Though my motivations aren’t quite as sappy as that fool’s.”

They laughed again.

“The destruction of this planet. And then the annihilation of The Presenters. This is all I’m after. Quite simple, isn’t it?”

"Where... Where are the hostages?” Doggie inquired, gritting his teeth. Their purpose, even a crazy one as this, was of little importance to him. He knew they would stop this, he needed to focus on their current mission.

“Oh dear, are you worried about DekaPink?”

Doggie’s hand clenched his sword tighter. Even if his helmet hid his face, it didn’t take a genius to notice this simple sentence shook the Anubian.

“Yes, yes I saw right through that ruse. But I figured playing along wouldn’t hurt. You gave me a one-in-a-lifetime chance to get rid of the Commander of the Special Police and the one Kamen Rider who can get in my way in one go.”

As they spoke, the enemy summoned an arrow, and aimed it at Fourze’s waist. It was only a matter of who would strike first, now.

 Fourze is already taking off, using the Wheel module to keep pace with Doggie and the perp. The chances of them not getting into a fight is pretty low. But since the Horoscopes might be there, he can probably conivince them to help out.

The chase leads them on the streets until they come to a subway station. Down through the tunnels, the cloaked form carries the not-Yuuki through past derelict trains and graffiti-covered walls, and graffiti of derelict trains.

A small door into the side of a steam tunnel opens up and the Alienizer rushes in. Fourze follows behind, waiting for Doggie to catch up.

DekaMaster, while faster than most of the other Dekarangers, had trouble keeping up with the enemy. Thankfully, there was nothing his Rider companion couldn’t do with his Astro Switches! If he couldn’t track the villain with his eyes, he could at least follow Fourze right to their lair! Both with that and Umeko’s tracker, there was no way they could get away!

... Or so he thought. As soon as the enemy rushed into an underground passage, Doggie realized a big flaw in the plan. Umeko’s tracker couldn’t emit anything if it was underground. That meant all they could do was keep following them, with no way of knowing exactly where the hostages were. He knew he didn’t have to be too worried about Umeko, she could protect herself just fine. But he couldn’t shake away that vague weight in his stomach.

How could he overlook something like this?!

As Fourze and him progressed through the abandoned station, the Commander put his License back at his waist and pulled his sword out of its sheath.

“This is a dead end. We’ll just have to find them and put an end to this charade.”

The place wasn’t very well lit. But thanks to the night vision mode of his suit, and his own natural abilities as an Anubian, Doggie had no problem walking through the darkness. And he assumed Gentaro could do as much, seeing what the Fourze system was capable of.

After a few minutes, the Commander thought he heard some footsteps. He turned around with his sword raised and asked the cause of the noise to show themselves.

Only response he got was a vague movement in the distance, and a second later, a flash of light. It was far too late for Doggie to try to deflect it.

DekaMaster was propelled backward, falling on his back. His shoulder was pierced by what looked like an arrow of fire. An attack Fourze could definitely be already familiar with...

“Urgh...!” The Sentai Ranger gasped as he tried to removed the burning projectile from his chest.

 Ban thinks about what Doggie said and frowned at the situation he was given. Ban was glad tht Doggie told him about the last bit of information but was not happy that Boss was willing to put himself in danger because of it.

Ban crosses his arms and huffs. “I still don’t like the idea but I will go through with it. You are going to keep your license on you at all times right.. Or do we need to get you a chip locator in case you lose the license.”

Doggie smirked, glad to see Ban willing to cooperate despite his objection. He pulled on the collar of his robe and pointed at his neck.

“Way ahead of you on this. Swan already put a locator under my choker. I haven’t ruled out the possibility of the Alienizer seeing through the trap and stealing my License, so this will be what you’ll need to track.”

The Anubian rose from his seat. Looking at his watch, it was probably better if they departed now. He walked over to the young man sitting in front of him and gave him a light pat on his shoulder.

“Don’t look at me like that, Ban. We’ve been through worst cases already. I wouldn’t ask you this if I didn’t know you could do it.”

 Over the month of June, Ian and the other students in his graduate program worked on analyzing a batch of fossils from Utah. While they spent time taking detailed notes and comparing the new fossils to the existing fossil record, Jeffrey, a small town detective during the day, entertained the group with stories from his job. Ian didn’t take the stories seriously. Why would aliens be interested in selling the citizens on London illegal drugs?

However, Ian’s attitude changed when he spotted Jeffrey chasing a lumpy red monster down the street. Poor Jeffery, his tiny pistol didn’t have enough fire power to penetrate the aliens defenses, and the creature disappeared before Ian had the chance to do anything. The realization that drug dealing aliens were running around London convinced Ian to visit SPD headquarters. 

He chose to deport the bus in the district on the outskirts of the city. Because he was one of the only humans in the area, he stood out in the crowded streets, and he found himself being approached constantly  by well dressed alien con artists. A large blue centipede was attempting to sell him the elixir of “eternal youth” when a familiar voice cut through the conversation. The centipede’s antenna flattened against its head as it looked in the direction of the voice. They mumbled something about the cops always destroying their deals before shoving paper into Ian’s pocket and disappearing beneath a hole in the ground.

“Hey there! You saved me from the fifth person promising to sell me eternal youth.”

“How are you? My life has been normal with the exception of drug dealing aliens wandering around London." 

The noisy street became instantly quiet after Ian spoke. He looked to the side at a group of aliens huddled around the table whispering about something. They immediately stopped talking upon noticing Ian. Turning his attention back the Commander, Ian folded his arms across his chest and smiled.

"Clearly, I’m not the most popular person on the streets right now.”

Ah, straight to the point as always. This didn’t come off as a surprise for the Bullet Brave to cut down to the chase and tell him the reason of his presence within a minute of their encounter. Though that sounded like more work for him...

Well, it would be unfair of him to take advantage of his day of vacation when Swan had to work, he guessed. The commander smirked, and gestured to the Earthling to wait for a second while he sent a message to the DekaBase with his License to announce he might return later this afternoon, with a case.

He closed his license and turned back toward Ian. Looking around, it was obvious the human’s declaration had made quite the numbers of passerby uneasy. Quite understandably. A lot of alien immigrants in these parts were sick of people putting every extra terrestrial beings into the same basket as those intergalactic criminals.

Doggie invited Ian to follow him, just so they could be far away enough from the crowd... And from any possible ill-mannered person who would make good use of whatever informations the Kyoryuger had.

“I called a vehicle that will bring us back to the DekaBase. While we wait, tell me everything... At least, everything you can say that isn’t too sensitive. We don’t want any possible accomplice of... whoever that dealer is overhearing what we already know.”

  Ban looked at the map of the kidnapping sites and frowned. “Three hours is short notice but we can totally think of something to work with.

Ban was nodding along to the plan until it was time to pick who was bait. Ban slammed a fist on to Boss’s desk. “No way Boss. I am not letting you be taken by this Alienizer! I can be better bait than you. Plus you have better experience of being sneaky than I do. So let me be the bait!” Ban glared at Doggie to see if he would relent or refuse.

Doggie sighed. Of course he had expected this reaction from Ban. But there was more to the General’s decision that personal selflessness. Maybe this was something he should have mentioned earlier.

“There is a last detail I haven’t told you: All of the Alienizer’s victims weren’t native of this planet. Whether this is a coincidence or not, I can’t tell. But I am sure the bait not being an Earthling will definitely make our chances of catching them red-handed higher.”

“I understand your concern. But tell yourself I am willing to do that because I know you will save me and the other hostages no matter how this unfolds. ”

 “I know you wouldn’t bug me if it wasn’t important Boss.” Ban rubbed his chin as he heard Doggie explain the case.”This does sound like a possible Alienizer case and I know for a fact that evil doesn’t sleep but why would the Alienizer want all these people for? Or what do the plan on doing with these people once they have them held captive. Either way this needs to be looked into.”

The Anubian nodded. He couldn’t quite hold back a smirk as he listened to Ban’s response. He would be lying if he said he hadn’t missed his DekaRed’s enthusiasm.

"According to the modus operandi we’ve inferred, the Alienizer. will attack at the very same place at the beginning of the evening. That lives us around three hours to plan our next move. An evacuation order at the attention of citizens has already been issued.”

Doggie took out his License and navigated through its menu before he found what he was looking for. An holographic map of the scene of the kidnappings popped out of the desk between them.

“Since we don’t have any leads to start investigating, one of us will have to walk right into the enemy’s trap. I will be the one acting as the bait.”

“I know I can trust you with staying at a safe distance and follow the culprit as he takes me to the other captives.”

"I’m sorry for wasting your rare days of vacation like that, Ban, but this is a pretty delicate case, and Jasmine and the others are already working on another one.”

“People have been disappearing in the same neighborhood over the course of the past weeks. And every times, the same modus operandi: Every witness felt like they were frozen, they heard a very distinctive laugh, and the next thing they knew, a person had vanished in front of them. You don’t doubt that an Alienizer is behind that either, do you?”

The fact he had already met Kai once before made his current task much easier. If the young man hadn’t already been made aware of the existence of the SPD, much of the time of this encounter would be taken by some long explanations.

So, upon meeting him, the Commander could get straight to the point.

“Mr. Nakadai, it is a pleasure to see you again.”

”However, I did not come here for a simple visit... I have to inform you of rather dire news. It’s about your brother. Or rather, about what used to exist within him.”

Today was one of Doggie’s rare days off. An occasion for him to drop his uniform, put on some casual clothes, and spend some lovely time in company of his wife! However, today, it so happened that Swan was called to the SPD Universal Headquarters for an emergency. So the Anubian ended up alone on his vacation.

Not quite feeling like staying at home all day, the Commander ended up taking a walk in the place of his cancelled date. But he quickly came to realize it was rather awkward to be here on his own, especially since he knew he would be the center of attention wherever he went.

Out of the boundaries of his city populated by alien immigrants, nobody here could possibly be used to seeing somebody like him. And the excuse of pretending to be a man in an animal suit could only take him so far.

He was considering returning to his appartement, when he crossed path with somebody he knew. Kyoryu Black himself! Now, it would be just rude not to at least salute him, wouldn’t it?

“Oh! Mr. Yorkland. It is a small world.”

“How have you been doing? I believe we haven’t seen each other since the Space Shocker incident.”

It’s more that I have no self-control and that I love pain apparently. Really, though, having many blogs is not much of a problem when you’re well-organized. My only problem is my short-ass attention span, and my tendency to be 80% of the time fully active on only one account at a time.

Like that’s what my taskbar looks like.

And .... I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t considering bringing back my Cure Moonlight blog. And I’m also considering to start RPing as Ultraman Cosmos. Why am I doing this to myself...

I honestly don’t know what to do with this blog... I want to be active, I really do. Doggie is a character I really love and I want to write more stories with him. Or if not with him, maybe with another Dekaranger like Ban who is my second favourite from his season.

But the lack of other Super Sentai fans around is really discouraging. I miss the time back when I roleplayed as Gokai Yellow and I had more partners than free time to write.

Just.... The current state of the tokusatsu fandom - so empty you wonder if there ever was one - is really depressing, and I don’t know if I can still do Boss justice when so little opportunities for threads within his canon exist.

I’m considering going on another undetermined hiatus. I’m really sorry about that, especially if we have an ongoing thread.
