Aenon watched carefully, but didn’t emote too much beyond mild curiosity. He kept his hands folded in front of him, slightly adjusting his gloves.
“Would that be all then, or do you need anything else? Does something need to be done?” The question was meant to sound interested, but his voice was a little too worried for that to work.
“That should be all,” the practitioner said, and left the same way they arrived.
Verthandi got to her feet with help of the wall. She was pale, but gave no other indication she was in pain. “I’ll find a place to recuperate. Thank you for the help.” Though she hadn’t found somewhere to stay yet.
“You sure your employer won’t be back to ‘finish the job?’ If they’re that serious. . .
“. . .Well, there are plenty of places to stay nearby, although they may be a little expensive.” He tried to smile, looking off to the side. “Though maybe a time traveler doesn’t need to worry about a budget. Maybe you even have alternatives prepared already.”
