PSA for Across the Spiderverse:
Do NOT see the new Spiderverse movie if you have any form of epileptic condition or conditions affected by bright lights and rapidly changing colors.
I will not be spoiling the plot or anything happening in it, but it is important that people know, because ohhh my god the AMOUNT of flashing lights and rapidly changing colors from beginning to end was so rampant that even I, a non-epileptic autistic person, got a severe headache and wild overstimulation. They do not give a warning in theaters at all that this movie is NOT epileptic friendly from the literal beginning with the beginning credits - which is so, so sad!
This is a beautifully made film, it's wonderful, it's amazing, but unfortunately, it's not a good time for anyone super affected by bright flashing lights in rapid succession, especially those seizure prone.
I wanted to put this out there BECAUSE there are no theater warnings. Idk if anyone else has put it out there, but it is SUPER IMPORTANT!!!
I wish you all a lovely day and hope they eventually have a remaster that will be much more friendly to epileptic and other people affected by bright, flashing lights.
in this house we stan guillermo del toro
Car commercial and army recruitment aesthetics is the most unflinchingly accurate description of everything I hate in so many action movies. Congrats to him on creating the perfect action film with Pacific Rim, and for giving me vocabulary for expressing my distaste. Couldn't describe it til now.

Holy shit, this!
I would say I am a cis guy, yes, but I really don’t care. I could see myself being a girl aswell (heck I prefer to play feminine characters in video games that allow me to chose), but not in a way would I consider myself trans. Like, I would be fine with any. Obviously I don’t have the experience of being trans, but there is no dysphoria for me. There are things I don’t like about myself, but I feel like that would be the case in any way.
Gender is such a weird concept to me.
I suddenly understand why jewelry is expensive
Hopefully people will start to realize why trades in general are so expensive. You're paying for someone's experience to make a good finished product that takes skill and years of practice.
However there is also a giant gap that needs to be filled in trades. As people are aging out of jobs like tailors, carpenters, bookbinders, leatherworkers, etc, there aren't enough young people going INTO the trades to repopulate the jobs.
Please. Please. Consider going into trades.
These are the kinds of jobs people "fall into," because they aren't visible, and are never talked about.
Kids never grow up telling people they want to be a bookbinder. They don't know they even exist. And schools never ever present them as valid options. And if they do talk about them, they are treated as invalid compaired to NFL Linebacker, President, and Brain Surgeon. After all "jewelry maker" is something people do to supplement their "burger flipping" income, and not an extension of blacksmithing.
But that's the crux of it, isn't it? Crafting and trade skills are an extension of artistic skills, which are often seen as completely invalid, and a total waist of time.
As the daughter of a professional bookbinder/book restorer, I had to reblog.
Do you have a song with your name in it?
Yes - In the title
Yes - In the title but it's spelled/pronounced differently
Yes - In the lyrics only
Yes - In the lyrics but it's spelled/pronounced differently
Yes - In many songs (I have a common name)
No - My name is too uncommon
I don't know - I haven't come across one
I think the thing that most embodies Percy's character is that he was able to make a functional bear trap out of dining utensils only to accidentally stick his hand into said trap while complaining about people not listening to him.
Autistic people: Who did you inherit your autism from?
Undiagnosed mom
Undiagnosed dad
Diagnosed mom
Diagnosed dad
No one (both parents are allistic)
Both parents (and they're both undiagnosed)
Both parents (and at least one parent diagnosed)
For clarification: I'm asking if your parent is diagnosed or undiagnosed autistic. You can answer this poll if you consider yourself on the autism spectrum, officially diagnosed or not.
And please reblog for higher sample size.
