Florrie - Little White Lies (Shadow Child Dub Mix)
Bassy, housey and hitting all the sweet spots.
New one from #TeeFury. #DoctorWho, again, but I'm not obsessed. Really.
Your #flashbackfriday pic - 1995!
Artful ft. Cairo - Architect
Going out on a limb and going to say that this is Artful's best solo single to date. Pretty and bouncy.
Chase & Status featuring Ed Thomas - Blk & Blu
MJ Cole tribute from Will and Saul, out March 24th. Pretty little ditty this is. Also reminds me of the fluffier stuff from Ed Case's album.
Fish Go Deep - The Cause & The Cure (Dennis Ferrar Remix)
The percussion loop that created a whole genre (UK funky garage) back in 2007. Not dated much, but I'm deeply surprised that the deep house fad has not seen this record dragged back out into the light for a 2014 re-rub or two.
Andre Crom - New Day
Amazing deep garage track. Soo good that it seems 18 years or so out of time. Featuring a cheeky chopped-up Nina Simone sample..."Feeling Good", indeed.
A-Minor - Thinkin Bout The Things
Lovely garage house burner, with some addictive minimal vocals. Huge for good reason, goddammit.
She asked me out and bought tickets for this months ago. The "other" first date. #bestgirlfriendever #craigferguson
Danny Byrd ft. Serocee - Touchline
Incredible breakbeat garage record from the Byrd Man. Inside that man lives an old skool garagehead, I swear. Trainspotters with a keen ear will hear both a "Dooms Night" sample and a "Ripgroove" hat tip.
Hospital Records is releasing a special four-track garage remix EP of select tracks from Danny Byrd's Golden Ticket album on Monday. EP will be available from iTunes, Beatport, Amazon and Hospital's own online shop.
Disclosure ft. Sasha Keable - Voices (Wookie Remix)
The new school gets an old school re-rub, courtesy of UKG legend, Wookie.
Gorgon City ft. MNEK - Ready For Your Love
Gorgon City hits it out of the park, AGAIN. "Ready For Your Love" is a propulsive deep house number with a soulful vocal provided by MNEK. It's been hiding in certain DJ boxes for the last six months, burning up select dancefloors, until a couple of weeks back. I think it may be the record that makes the GC boys into superstars, akin to Disclosure.
Sub Focus - Safe In Sound
The gorgeousness of this is just insane.
"It's raining bullets outside my window..."
Criminally overlooked 2-step single from Lisa Stansfield. I'm really not sure why this wasn't a hit. Maybe it was her age and status (hard to sell a uk garage single from an older r&b star), or maybe it was because two-step was on its way out of the Top 40. Either way, I'm always a little sad that a song this pretty didn't seem to find many fans.
I did not know that I was waiting for a house remix of this song to complete my life, but I guess I was.
DJ Marky & XRS vs MIST - "Sunshine (Touch Me)" Feat. Jenna G (by Innerground Records)
Another classic roller, this one full of, well, sunshine. Soulful vocals from the Queen of D'n'B herself, Jenna G.
Jonny L - Back to Your Roots (Friction & K-Tee Remix) (2005)
Classic dark roller from the raving legend that is Jonny L.
