It's funny how some people don't have a problem with crosstagging until the post is about racism. Then all of a sudden it's, "Why are you crosstagging?", "This has nothing to do with my ship." When serious issues like racism are being discussed, crosstagging shouldn't be a problem because the ENTIRE fandom needs to see it. If that's where you draw the line, then that says a lot about you.

Its genuinely insane to me how white fandom will bend over backwards to excuse, justify or deny racism and the frustrations of fans of color, like they'll find a handful of poc that don't have an issue with whatever is going on and they'll be validated enough to continue thinking its not a problem, they'll accept apologies not meant for them and get upset when others dont, they'll publicly announce how they forgive white creators like their making a stand against something, and blanket all criticism and fans of color speaking up as hate, bullying, harssment and bad faith. I thought fandom was supposed to be fun and inclusive, i thought we were supposed to be critical of what we consumed? How come fans of color can never truly escape from reality in fandom and media?

So I've noticed a subtle pattern, and I want to say this because I'm sure people don't intend to be antiblack when they do this, but it is:

Stop telling us that you didn't put effort into your art/creations of Black people

"oh it's just a bad sketch I did to the side" "oh I just didn't feel like drawing his hair this time" "oh I just didn't feel like doing her skin well"

Okay well if you didn't feel like putting effort into your depiction, why are you showing it to us? Why are you TELLING us that you didn't care enough to be thoughtful this go round, while expecting us to still applaud you for your work? Especially if you and I know you're capable? It's insulting.

If you didn't want to draw me, you didn't have to. But you don't have to make it seem like it's excessively difficult, especially if you don't say this about anyone else you draw.

Black viewers of your work deserve to know you cared. I'm not saying every piece has to be the Mona Lisa. But if your character is supposed to have deep skin or curly hair, and you just... Decide that's too hard to do sometimes... Why should I settle for your half effort? Just don't share it 😅 wait until you do care 😅 take your time until it's done 😅

Just to clarify: this isn't just about my page specifically. I mean this as a whole. On your own pages too. Black people can see when you post bad artwork of Black characters publicly. If you knew you didn't feel like putting in the effort to respectfully depict our Blackness, don't post it 🤷🏾‍♀️ or don't get upset when someone notices it and says something about it.

It's racist, it's antiBlack, relies on slave labor and resources of the Global South, pollutes the earth more than ever before, it's ugly, steals people's creations, it's ableist, it's dumb as all hell, it targets emotionally/mentally vulnerable people, it's ugly, contributes to the enshittification of literally everything, it's only pushed by either rich assholes that don't want to pay human workers, or its pushed by poor assholes that want to get rich, it's plants drive people out of their homes and contribute to gentrification, everyone's privacy is at stake, it exploits real people's images

Are y’all like….upset with Black Americans cuz we somehow figured it out?

All this talk about how American imperialism pushes Black American culture worldwide, and that’s why y’all gotta be mad at the Black people specifically, at no point do y’all think, “we can just push for our own cultural identity’s form of entertainments?”

And I know for certain many have, it’s not impossible. But for the folks that want to blame Black Americans for being predominant in the music scene and thus shown on television and in radio of different countries…..just take that up with the people in charge over in your country? You can’t because of social barriers? Well I know that can’t be the case cuz Black people literally died just to make music and show our stories. They have burned down and bombed plenty of our cities the moment we show economic success. We still pushed through. Mainly cuz that was the only way to survive at this point.

There’s no secret to this, it’s gonna be hard. We still die over sharing our history and cultures to this day. That’s just a chance you have to just be willing to take. You have the autonomy to do so.

I just don’t understand why yall zero in on Black people for everything, and use white American talking points, no less.
