Disclaimer; Stream Evermore !!
āPerched in the dark
Telling all the rich folks anything they wanna hear
Like it could be love
I could be the way forward
Only if they pay for it
You're a bandit like meā
ā³ this song just,, fits him. Itās sort of a criticism on rich people which I could see him doing. Despite being wealthy, I could see him still being critical of these spaces and feel that though heās there- heās aĀ ābanditā
Yoongi- No body, No crime
āthink he did it, but I just can't prove it
I think he did it, but I just can't prove it
No, no body, no crime
But I ain't lettin' up until the day I dieāĀ
ā³Ā I typically give Yoongi the most intense songs on her albums, and this is no exception. Especially since this is a song about finding truth- I think this very much fits Yoongi and his desire for fairness and honesty. Also its an absolute banger.
And I'm sitting on a bench in Coney Island
Wondering where did my baby go?
The fast times, the bright lights, the merry go
Sorry for not making you my centerfold
Over and over
Lost again with no surprises
Disappointments, close your eyes
And it gets colder and colder
When the sun goes down
ā³Ā Ā This one was pretty easy to assign, I really resonated with the imagery of lights and the sun contrasting with cold abandonment, because I honestly think it really suits him. The sort of shining beacon but still darkness underneath, that there's more depth beyond the light.Ā
Tell me, when did your winning smile
Begin to look like a smirk?
When did all our lessons start to look like weapons
Pointed at my deepest hurt?
I hope she'll be a beautiful fool
Who takes my spot next to you
No, I didn't mean that
Sorry, I can't see facts through all of my fury
You haven't met the new me yet
ā³Ā Ā This song just couldnāt be more Namjoon in my opinion. The themes of self awareness, self reflection, and self improvement aid to his own writing style. Honestly, this song really feels like something he would write. Itās very forgiving but explores phycology on both sides of a relationship. Itās introspective without being vindictive- very Namjoon !
Clover blooms in the fields
Spring breaks loose, the time is near
What would he do if he found us out?
Crescent moon, coast is clear
Spring breaks loose, but so does fear
He's gonna burn this house to the ground
ā³Ā Ā On a much less literal note, i think the mood of this song reminds me of Jimin the most. Itās daring, scandalous even, but shows insecurity and fear at the same time. The beautiful imagery also describes Jimin well, I think !
I wait by the door like I'm just a kid
Use my best colors for your portrait
Lay the table with the fancy shit
And watch you tolerate it
If it's all in my head, tell me now
Tell me I've got it wrong somehow
I know my love should be celebrated
But you tolerate it
ā³Ā Ā This song to me just screams his energy. When I first heard it, it just felt like something he would write. It describes opulence and refined activities laced with desperation and cynicism. Though itās not the most concrete, it just feels like him ya know??
The more that you say, the less I know
Wherever you stray, I follow
I'm begging for you to take my hand
Wreck my plans, that's my man
You know that my train could take you home
Anywhere else is hollow
I'm begging for you to take my hand
Wreck my plans, that's my man
ā³Ā Ā This, admittedly, was a bit hard. I was caught between a few songs, but I settled on this one because of its upbeat and youthful energy. There's this sense of loyalty and childishness that I think really fits him ! Itās so pure and wholesome with a bit of edge- the sneaking away and secrets. It just seems to fit him the best!
