What is Blood of the Waterlillies?

A comic - a Monster Mash with Folk Tale creatures that is also a Dramedy!

Theme:

Loneliness and what strange beasts it makes of us.

Premise:

Two hundred years ago the Näcken, a deeply lonely Swedish water spirit, lost his bride. Well, actually he bought a fisher girl from her desperate father for a promise of bountiful fish harvest and she, proclaiming she'd rather die than marry him, killed herself.

Finally having gathered his courage to once again try and make a connection, but fearing another human might "break" the way his bride did, he sends messages in bottles out into the world for other creatures of folklore. And his call is heard: soon two Rusalki, a Vodyanoy and a Kappa arrive.

But while these creatures of legend are indeed his peers and would like to just have a good time, they themselves are not without darkness in their pasts - and soon the skeletons start crawling out of the closet...

It's not clover it's ... wood sorrel. It tastes like blueberries and has cute white flowers early, just before the summer starts.

If you are feeling good about yourself or situation and then your mood suddenly shifts leaving you feeling insecure, unsure, etc. try to remind yourself that nothing has truly changed but your perception. Your cute outfit did not suddenly become horrid. Your delicious meal did not tranform into a terrible one. Your peers perception of you has not radically transformed over a social misstep. Everything we experience is put through it through our mental filter, and that can convince us that everyone else sees us with the judgement we have for ourselves. Be kind to yourself.
