the whole "are you really feeling better or are you just so isolated that no one can trigger you" rhetoric really bothers me because there are very much people that I interact with regularly, but I don't really find myself getting triggered by them because the way they behave is... functional??? reciprocal??? expected, maybe? I wouldn't necessarily say "predictable", but definitely easier to anticipate than the relationships that hurt me.

I don't think the fact that I'm not getting re-traumatized on the reg is proof that I'm actually not doing any better. And I think that if you think so, somebody should fill all of your favorite pairs of pants with raw eggs.
