Hello everyone. I am cybernetic_forest on AO3. So far I've only written for My Babysitter's a Vampire, and I'm likely to continue with just that tag. So if you like Bethan, you're in luck!

I'll use this blog to announce new stories, add additional materials (pictures I used as inspo, recipes cuz I write about food a lot), and potentially post previews.

I welcome asks, but I am less active on this account so it might take me a while to respond.

Solstice with the Weirs, chapter 5 live

"That's the dumbest thing you've ever said," Jane snarks. It's far from true; Benny has said some incredibly braindead things.

"Or, and you gotta hear me out on this, could it be that I'm onto something huge? Big Color doesn't want you to question the rainbow."

"Rainbows are a natural occurrence, dumbass," Jane snaps. 

"Jane, language," Mom replies instinctively, in the middle of her conversation with Dad.

"Yeah, but we didn't have to copy nature," Benny insists. "We could've picked any order. Orange, blue, green, purple is just as good."

Ethan silences Jane with a hand. "Benny can get this."

"Get what? I'm right, right?" Benny looks up from his cookie mess. Muddy rainbow icing on his fingers.

Solstice with the Weirs, chapter 4 live

Across from Jane, Benny and his fussy finance, Antigone, have been crammed into the other end of the table. It was supposed to be romantic, having to shove their chairs together to make a bench. But they look uncomfortable, and Benny can't figure out where to put his arms.

He was sitting straight-backed under his grandmother's supervision, but his body was angled towards Ethan.

Solstice with the Weirs, chapter 3 live

Benny examines a clay blob suspended from red ribbon. It's an "angel" that Ethan made from salt dough when he was five, and at some point over the years has lost a wing.

"We don't have to put that one up," Ethan says. He's working out how to untangle the lights—too enthusiastic for his own good, Benny has already plugged them in, turning the plastic strands into live fire in his hands.

"Aw, but baby Ethan made it," Benny replies with a fake pout.

"Fine," Ethan gives in, knowing even if he could talk Benny out of the blob-angel, Mom would just hang it up when she got here.

For Benny and Renata, the exploration of the Morgan family ornaments is delightful and untainted by familiarity or embarrassment. Renata coos over anything related to Jane in a way that Ethan thinks jeopardizes the 'just friends' cover. Except that Benny is doing the exact same thing, if for the decidedly different purpose of tormenting his best friend.

Benny laughs. "Are you blushing?"

"No!" It doesn't help that he's holding boxers. Ethan shoves his underwear into the drawer and slams it shut. He still has a couple of items to unpack and the drawer was far from full, but he just opens the next drawer.

"You totally are." Benny sits up and scoots over until he can reach Ethan, manhandling his shoulder so they're facing each other.

"It's just the red sweater reflecting on my face," Ethan counters, but he can feel the heat in his cheeks. Benny's making it worse by pointing it out.

"Do you blush this much when you get fucked?" Benny teases. His soft lips in a wide mischievous smile, reveling in his friend's discomfort.

Benny fails to realize how charged sex is for allosexuals.

This is a great prompt, play on the theme of seeing. Imagine Benny's been kidnapped and tied up in a pitch black morgue. The villain will allow Ethan to take one body--Ethan has to rely on the visions he gets from touching dead bodies to find Benny.
