this is a place for me to post about my selfships + objectum, fiction kin, and otherkin stuff!!
main blog is @ehlno-fey
kins are HoK!Sheogorath (TES), Roach, (COD MW), Bell (COD BOCW), & P2 Dude (Postal 2)
otherkin types are demon & vampire
I'm mostly sharing for (almost) all of my f/os, and I only block doubles if your interpretation of said f/os makes me uncomfortable or feels competitive
Tip for when you're making stuff for your selfship: If you ever go "this might be too cringy/indulgent" you're doing it right and you need to continue. Make it more cringy. Now.
Imagine you're f/o sitting in the living room, waiting idly for you to come home from work/school. They haven't exactly been waiting for you but sitting in the front room was certainly strategic on their part. When they heard the door open they are so excited to see you but instantly notice how flat you are, how heavy your arms hang, how slumped over even whilst standing you seem.
You dropped your bags just at the door, glad to be home but suddenly overwhelemed by such a hard day. Your f/o is at your side instantly, checking on you. Asking if you want to talk or not, either way it's fine, they scoop you up and take you back with them to the couch where they hold you close
If you need to cry, they're ok with it
If you need to vent, they will listen
If you need silence, they will provide it
If you need a distraction, they will happily create one
You dont have to walk on eggshells around your f/os. Know that they're more than willing to understand you and your feelings no matter how complicated.
i've come to dislike how square the original is so i decided to make a second version while keeping it close to the original :> this is basically just a rearrangement with simpler text
same rules as for the other ones: for private use only. no commercial use, do not use them to sell any merch or otherwise make a profit. credit is appreciated but not necessary
i won't be making more colors or text variations so feel free to edit these!
Imagine your F/O knowing you have allergens and bringing them up and caring for you when you have them!
If you have an intolerance, they avoid those too.
Or maybe you just can’t take/eat certain things from texture or surgery?
That’s okay! Your F/O knows how important it is to avoid those and not give them to you, otherwise you might get sick.
Even if it’s food, pollen, or just anything in general, they take care of you.
If you have food allergens, they avoid those foods to make for you. If it’s an intolerance, they avoid foods with that specific thing and they don’t let you eat it.
If you take medicine for your intolerance/allergen, imaging them reminding you to take them before you eat anything with it!
If you have a pollen allergy, imagine if they make sure to keep on extra non-drowsy medicine for you to take when you two are outside.
If it’s a medicine allergen, imagine them asking you what you can take, and then giving you the medicine you asked for.
If you can’t eat certain foods or take certain medicine for whatever reason, your F/O will find a replacement for you. Whether the reason is too much sugar, you can’t handle the texture, or it just doesn’t work, they’ll find a way to make sure you feel better soon!
(pro/com/dark/adj gets sent to the Florpus hole if they interact. Zim and June don’t like them and neither do I.)
wanna learn what selfshipping is? wanna learn different terms in a more simply explained manner? look no further than this post! I've been a selfshipper since the dawn of my life and I'd love to help newcomers learn different things!
PLEASE remember that this post is spoken from PERSONAL OPINIONS and EXPERIENCE! not everyone is like this but I only aim to give information to those who are new!
be ready for a long post! today we'll learn WHAT selfshipping is, what type of people there are, what fictoromantic/fictosexual means as a spectrum, and what riakos and soulbonders are!
- selfshipping is the act of making a sona/oc to ship with a canon character! this can be familial, platonical, romantical, and even queerplatonic!
- for this, F/O means 'fictional other', it is similar to 'significant other' but it is aimed at the canon character instead! you may use different terms for your personal use
- this has been a thing in the fandom culture since dating back to even the 1970's - 1980's! with fanfiction of Star Trek (in the form of a fanzine) showing evidence of this!
- the term 'yumeshipping' originated from the japanese word 'yumejoshi' which means dream relationship (last I checked), it's essentially the same function as selfshipping, so there's no need to really worry about what's different and what's not...
What's with the 'nonsharers' thing?
- first, let's learn about the different types of people for this...
- HYPERSHARER = a person who loves seeing other people ship with the same character/s they ship with, they tend to be very open about their love and others' love about the same F/O(s)! think of that old 2000's tv show trope when multiple teens share a love for a popular celebrity or highschool popular person!
- AVERAGE PERSON = your average selfshipping person, they don't care about how you treat your F/O(s)- if you're chill, they're chill! in my experience these types of people tend to keep to themselves and also do love to talk to others about their F/O(s)
- SELECTIVE SHARER = a person who has a boundary when it comes to having an F/O (or more), they choose which people they think they're okay with when it comes to liking the same character(s)
- NONE SHARER = contrary to stereotype beliefs, most non-sharers will not make every post just about them whining about how somebody else like their F/O(s)- in actuality, they're by far the most stigmatized due to the people thinking they're like 'sans fangirls' or have other problems.
Non-sharing people only have this as a boundary! they simply don't want to see other people's love for the same character, this can be just because they don't like it and this can also be just that they personally think the others 'don't understand the character as much as they do' (autism/ADHD/OCD/ADD spectrum sort of thing in my experience)
What is a Riako/Gachiko?
- non-sharers are in this category! well some are! these terms are for people who treat the relationship they have with their F/O as a real relationship! the terms originate from gyaru and idol fanspaces :D
(do remember to respect them, even if some of them can give quite a bad experience as there's no way to tell how they mentally bad they can get down the line)
.
What is a Soulbond?
- this is a term used for when someone is an individual who have an intense, often involuntary, mental or spiritual connection with a character who feels like a distinct, sentient person in their mind.
(at most this is involuntary but by no means does that mean it can be healthy in the long run, in my experience there are some people who have threatened to dox me or have sent hate messages over the fact they've 'soulbonded' with an F/O we both have so I don't necessarily like to talk about this topic as much as I'd like to due to that)
(HOWEVER, always treat them with respect.)
What is fictoromantic/fictosexual?
- many but not all selfshippers fall under this category! these labels are used in the ace spectrum, representing those who have a preference of fictional characters over real-life people (which is a mood with how things are nowadays)
- fictosexuality is also a term used as an umbrella term for those whose sexualities are affected by fictional characters!
thank you for reading this post until the end! I hope you've learnt many things from the post, remember there's no rules when it comes to selfshipping other than be respectful of others and their boundaries!
before april's over, happy autism acceptance month to autistic selfshippers. your f/os love you unconditionally !!
yes even if you have speech problems- even if they may poke fun at stuttering or mis-sayings, they never truly mean it. they're always ready to do a little bit of translation to better understand you. what you have to say is important to them! you rambling for too long isn't even a concept in their mind, they'll never get enough of you.
yes even if it takes you time to understand things. they aren't in this for some quick dip-n-go, they're with you for the long-run. they're more than happy to sit and let you gather your thoughts and process things, they're in no rush. even if they might be more fast-paced, they want you to have some peace of mind and not constantly play catch-up with them (well, more than you might on a usual basis, at least).
yes even if you have issues with motor skills. they're not going to judge you or poke fun at you for your physical control over your body- what would it benefit them? you're a pair, tearing one half of themself down would do nothing. even then, why would they care? they knew what they were signing up for getting to know you and they're not going to act stupid and run off. again, they've got more than enough time for you, they're not looking to rush through your time together anyhow.
yes in every scenario ever. your f/o loves you for who you are, exactly as-is.
HUGE shoutout to the selfshippers with LOTS of f/os!! Don't feel bad if you think that you have "too many", there's no such thing as too many f/os and they all love you so so much!! Even if you can't focus on all of them all the time, they all will understand and still love you no matter what!!! 💖✨
they don’t exaggerate it. just watch, already understanding what’s making it hard. everything about them stays steady
their presence, their attention, the way they keep you from spiraling without making you feel watched
they don’t overwhelm you with comfort
they don’t push too hard
they just make it clear, in their own way, that you can keep going and they're here for you
and that if you can’t, they’ll still be there
they don’t praise you, but they stay, focused on you in that deliberate way. if it gets overwhelming, they step in without hesitation. Ready to take care of you in any way they can.
not dismissive. protective. like they’ve already accounted for your limits and decided you’re worth working around. Despite everything they are capable of, you are worth their effort
I'll never understand the hate behind fictosexuals/selfshippers/literally anyone who just expresses intense emotions about fictional characters, because to me it is just so beautiful.
Like it's incredible to take a character that you never really considered all that much before and then see someone talk about and treat them like they're one of the most important things in their lives (which they probably are) and how that in itself shifts your perception of the character.
Like I followed this blog a while back that selfshipped with Agent One from Helluva Boss, a character that I didn't rlly care about honestly. But I seen all the fanart they posted, all the times they'd gush about him and talk about how much he'd changed their life for the better. And now? Whenever I rewatch Helluva Boss and Agent One comes up I'm filled with a sort of second-hand joy because I know how much he means to someone in this world.
Like it's so amazing to just witness another person's joy and then end up seeing the character in a new light because of that and so I'll never be able to understand people who call it cringe or wrong or sad.
