Dear Future Me,
Congrats on not being dead yet, for one thing.
I hope you’ve never let people’s perceptions of you ever change who you are to yourself.
I hope you’ve kept playing Pokémon, it makes you happy, and the friends you’ve made because of it are some of your favourite. I hope you continued not letting the grouchy people of the world ever effect your view of it.
And hey, did you finally get serious about life? I sure hope you did, because that’s the most important thing I can ask of you.
I hope you kept up the tradition of working your hardest at everything just to spite the universe, because that’s a key part of our personality, and I hope we haven’t lost it.
Have you kept in touch with our friends, the ones we know we can trust and have been through thick and thin with us and have never given up on us? I sure hope you have. Even if its just a couple conversations a year, make them count. I hope you kept them close, and remembered to remind them how important they are to you.
I hope you NEVER stopped shamelessly flirting with people who are okay with it, especially just for fun. I hope you never stopped asking if they were okay with it as well, because we’re always concerned with not making people uncomfortable.
Finally, I hope all the changes you’ve made to yourself are for the better. I hope you never forgot the promise we made in year 6: to always keep changing to become a better person. We might never know how much we’ve succeed with that, but never stop trying.
Hey future me, I hope you never stopped striving to be a good person, because that’s all I can truly genuinely ask of you. 💙❄
