CHRISTMAS TOON NO.2

Hello everyone!!!! It’s ya gal!!!

So- funny story- similar to Coraline and Skitters back in October, this toon’s design wasn’t actually made before December rolled around so Whoopsie- but! He’s here! And I’m posting about him so- it’s finneeeeee-

Anyhow- this is Mallow!

Gameplay-wise I like to think he’d be a stamina-based toon ngl- probably stealthy too-? Fits in with his ability which speaking of!:

His ability! Mallow creates a circle of steam around him that basically acts as a free smoke bomb lol- dunno how long the duration of it would be-? Possibly a good few seconds-? Also feel like it’d boost your stealth for a short time too to make it more effect to get away- oh! And I ALSO like the idea that his ability affects ANY toon in the steam’s radius! So he can be really useful in a pinch if you or another toon get cornered or if a decayed spawns near the ele-

[ Mallow is a very mellow toon that is the best in the biz when it comes to hot chocolates, teas and coffees! (Not that he’d tell you that himself- he isn’t the type of toon to brag after-all-!)

He may not be one for the spotlight like Nora herself, but he’s always back stage to make sure everyone always gets a comforting warm drink after a long busy day of show work! ]

Hello yes hi- it’s me again- I remembered this blog existed/jk

But yeah- been a while since my last post- tbh i haven’t posted much recently out of a lack of motivation and a BUNCH of what i can assume was imposter syndrome for this blog- BUTTT- given the new DW Christmas update is today- why not finally try post again, lol-

So here’s Cupid!!!! Our first Christmas toon!!! (Minus Nora who appeared in the last piece) her ability in game is a fun one ngl-

You know how Rudie has that dash-? Welll- instead of dashing AWAY from the scary monsters-? Why not RAM STRAIGHT INTO THEM-??? >:3

YEP-!!!!! WE RAMMING THEM DOWN!!!!!!!!

But in all seriousness- Cupid has the ability to stun decaying toons for maybe- 6s-? I think- she can only really stun one at a time (unlike a certain other toon) so I think making it fairly long is well- fair- heh-

[ Cupid the Reindeer (yes- THE Cupid!!!) has long since been retired from pulling Santa’s sleigh every Christmas Eve, and now enjoys a quieter life, knitting and sewing and making costumes for Nora’s fantastic performances!

Or well- we say a quieter life- but this reindeer hasn’t yet fully lost her need for speed and often per takes in her fellow toons races, dares and other games to feel the rush of adrenaline she once did all those snowy nights ago…even if Heather is less then pleased with her lack of care towards her own safety….. ]

Sooooo- you know how the shop keepers in DW all have gossip dialog and that-? Wellllllll-

I thought it’d be fun to write some for Second-cast’s Halloween main Trick given he’s also probably run an event shop!

Sooooo- uhhhhhhhhh- enjoy I guess lol- (text is under cut cause this post is a LONG one):

Entering shop:

“BOO-!!!! Heheh- did I get you-? I hope I did!!!”

“Happy Halloween!!!”

“Hello!!! Hi!!! Welcome!!! Have a look around!!!”

Buying costume:

“Oh!!! That costume’s a good one!!!! I’m sure you’ll get LOTS of candy in that!!!!”

“Getting dressed up-? Now- that’s the spirit!!!”

Buying toons:

“Oh! You want Coraline-? Ok!!! Just- don’t let her push you around too much- ok-? She can be a lil mean at times……….”

“Oh! I’d be careful with Skitter there! DO NOT TOUCH his candy ok-? Wouldn’t wanna get bit! That would be a NASTY trick!!”

“Oh!!!! You want me to help you out-!!!??? Wow- um- THANK YOU!!!!! I’ll do my best, pinky promise on that!!!”

Trick gossip dialog:

“Did you know I glow in the dark-!!!!!

Yeah!!! I have a lil light in me that helps me light up! Like- an actual real jack-o’-lantern!

It’s real useful when the lights go out on floors as it can help me see really really REALLY WELL!!!!

Honestly-

I don’t get why the other toons worry about me so much on those floors, I mean- like- THEIR the ones always bumping into stuff heheh-“

“Trick or treating is my FAVOURITE part of Halloween!!!!

Sure the other stuff is great too- but trick or treating is so much fun!!! Well- I mean- I’ve never really got to do it- least properly I mean-

I used to help the staff give out candy to trick or treaters on Halloween, which was really really FUN!! Especially with all their cool costumes!!!!

But-

I was never allowed to go out and run to different houses myself for candy……..and…I guess it’s too late for that now…….since the place is…y’know…….”

“Do you know Holly-??? Because she’s a GREAT toon!!!!!

I mean- noodle is nice as well- but Holly knows all these fun crafts and can draw a LOT of cool stuff!!!!

One time we ran out of paper, and Me and Ottaline got worried we wouldn’t be able to draw anymore

but Holly taught us how to make NEW PAPER from old boring documents in the office, I don’t fully remember how she did it, but it was really really fun!!!

And I mean-…at least she actually lets me help do stuff around here as well……”

“The other toons worry too much about me!

I mean- like- I can run those Decayed things around in circles as well- their not THAT scary-

Well- they are- kinda- but I’ve seen enough of them to not be scared anymore, least with the common ones…….

So i don’t get why I can’t help out!!! I mean- Ottaline gets too by collecting those note things for Heather and Anthony so why not ME-?”

“About me and Coraline-…..

I don’t know if we really are friends….i mean- the staff always said we were but she’s kinda mean to me-

Like- I like competing with her! I really do!!! But-…….

if I don’t wanna then she starts calling me names, saying mean things about me and acting all huffy until I say yes!

Like- that’s bullying, right-? Friends don’t do that…do they-? Holly and Noodle say they don’t! So is it….?”

“I wouldn’t try to take Skitter’s candy if I were you……

I mean, I tried once!!! Well- not on purpose- I didn’t know it was Skitter-

I thought it was one of the buckets made to look like them…like- the ones they used to sell in the gift shop!!!

So- I tried reaching my hand over for some candy and- you know what they did-? THEY BIT ME!!! RIGHT ON THE HAND!!!

It hurt a BUNCH….but- at the least their not a poisonous Spider or that’d be really really bad-

…or I don’t think they are-“

“I’ve been thinking…..

Maybe I should wear a different costume this year for Halloween- I mean- I ALWAYS dress up like a bat! So maybe it’d be fun to try something new!

Like a scarecrow or a zombie- OH! Or a werewolf!!!!

It’s about Nora and dove……

They’re the Christmas and valentines mains but I don’t think they get along……

I mean Dove is normally really nice, but- she starts acting funny around Nora……

And once!!! Or- maybe a few times, I SWEAR I’ve heard them arguing with eachother!!!! Pinky promise!!!

Dove and Cottentail say everything’s fine but…i think they’re lying to me…and- that makes me feel kinda mad-

Because I’m a main too-? Right-? I should know this stuff- or at least I feel like I should-

These two would NEVER canonically have the chance to meet given- uh- different shows and the current situations in garden view/posy studios BUT- if they did, I think they’d get along. :]

Apologies for the delay on this one ya’ll I needed to grind out research on the Halloween event because I REALLY needed the main toon (Gourdy is my son fr, I swear-)

Speaking of main toons! Welcome in Trick everyone!!!!!!

….now I should probably start with a disclaimer for this one: Trick was NOT in any way inspired by Gourdy, he was made MONTHS ago so the similarities here are a coincidence lol- (there are also no plans to change/replace him just because of this as a heads up, Trick is here to stay.)

Anyway!!!! Moving on from that!!! Trick the pumpkin!!!

I originally had a completely different idea for this lil guy’s ability but given all the other Halloween toons have abilities that mess with the player’s inventory in some way, I wanted to do that for Trick too!!!

So- Trick’s (active) ability is selecting two toons and swapping the items in their inventories! (This ability cannot be used on trick himself and possibly not on Skitter as their inventories a bit weird-? Or at least skitter’s FULL inventory isn’t swapped just the first three items idk-)

Say someone is hogging all the healing items or your supports/distractors have none, trick can just swap inventories around to fix those issues!

Although as you can guess this can be used for evil as much as it can be for good so uh- swap responsibility I guess!!!!

As for the passive-? Maybe something like all item effects last longer when used-? Something like that-? Idk- lol- I’ll think more on it later-

This brave excitable lil pumpkin is always up for trick or treating on a spooky Halloween’s night, especially with his friend, Caroline!

No matter the dangers or how scary things can be, Trick’s trusty glow helps to ward off the dark and help keep him and others safe while on the hunt for candy and a fun time! ]

Gotta get this out before the DW update today BUTTTTTT- here’s our second Halloween toon, Coraline!!!!!

She’s a snarky lil kiddo with a love for competition although tbh- she’s kinda a bully at times- U-w-

Ability-wise I had a fun idea for her, that being that for each inventory slot filled she gets a good boost to her task stat (extraction equivalent), that or- she just gets a boost when she picks up a item but either or works-!

Her ability is basically to encourage players to pick up/use items and I think it fits in with the inventory shenanigans Skitter does as well lol-

[ Looking for a challenge this halloween night-? Well Coraline is the toon for you!

This young toon is BIG on competition and even MORE big on winning whatever game she’s pushed her friends into. Whether that be seeing who can get the most candy trick or treating or Who can stay the longest in a spooky haunted manor, she always has something in store!

Just don’t expect to forget your losses anytime soon as Coraline will be happy to snarkily remind you of them when she can. ]
