Seven years ago, I walked into the doors of High School as a freshman and was terrified. I was alone, afraid, intimidated, small. How was I ever going to make it? I spent the next four years befriending friends, learning what love was, learning what hurt was, learning what I thought life held for me. You see, high school wasn’t any fun for me. Why? Those are the years I should have spent living happy and carefree, I was spending my time cutting, and drinking, taking drugs, to just numb myself. I didn’t want to live. I had nothing around going for me. My mind made me believe that I was a nobody, who was fat, worthless and pathetic.

Now you may be wondering, okay? But what does taylorswift have to do with any of this? Everything. She has everything to do with it. There were nights where I could’ve cut deeper, took more pills, drank more shots, killed it all. But deep inside, she kept me holding on. “Tied Together With A Smile” “Fearless” those two songs, absolutely S•A•V•E•D my life. I’m alive today, I’m happy, I’m breathing, I’m clean. At Eighteen I made the decision to get these words tattooed on my ribs, so that whenever there was an urge to cut, I’d remember that living Fearlessly meant making it past your fears. Those daily monsters. And now three years later, I’m sitting here to tell you that I’m Clean. It’s taken relapse, and agony, and heart wrenching, empty, nights of sobbing. You miss it all everyday.
