Hello Kim! Huge fan of the show #The100!! I read a post that said Eliza changed some of the wording on a scene. I am just curious how much freedom do you give actors to change something like that ?

We’re always happy to discuss lines with the actors, though we prefer that they talk to us about any changes before we’re filming the scene on set. There’s so little time during production that it’s best to have those conversations beforehand so that everyone’s on the same page. One of the jobs of the on-set writer is to make sure we have takes with every line as written or discussed (within reason, as in all things; we won’t hold things up because someone forgot a “that”). 

In the case you mentioned, where Eliza changed “the Grounders” to “Lexa and I,” all the other takes were true to the script. Eliza only made that change in one take, but Jason liked it, so it’s in the show.

Clarke and Lexa met on October 21st, 2149. Lexa died on February 16th, 2150.
